He would know which items he bought with that money, so if he sends you a list you can do the calculations and give him back the funds, and he can then pass those funds back to the people he robbed, and it should come out more or less even because I believe he only robbed enough to just cover the discrepancy.

It was a joke. As far as clearing it up anyway. It does actually show what happened, but not in the easiest to comprehend way.

Here’s a serious breakdown:

Money added for Arc = X
Money spent at shop = Y
Money robbed from people = Z
Money left after shop purchases = Q

X - Y = Q = X - Z
(Because Arkán only robbed enough to cover the gap.)

The key here, what Jelly was missing before, is that Y = Z
So if Y is refunded, then sent to the robbery victims, it comes out even.
And that’s why it’s not extra money. Q + Z = X and Q + Y = X
