Howard Shore

Post by Storm »

Howard Shore wrote the soundtrack for LotR. He one of the best composers of this day and age, by my opinion. However none of his other soundtracks really rank up with his LotR music.

Everybody write in and tell what you think about Howard Shore.

I my humble opinion, Howard Shore's LoTR music is simply magnificent. From 'The Prophecy" to "Into the West" his score shines with origionality and splendor. The way in which he composed is, to say the least, spectacular.

To anyone who does not own the complete soundtrack, consider buying single tracks on iTunes! You will not be dissapointed.

If you just prefer good music, I would suggest:
The Black Gate Opens
The Bridge of Khazad Dum
Concerning Hobbits
Evenstar
The Fields of the Pelennor
Forth Eorlingas

And for those who like to hear singing, check out:
Gollum's Song
Into the West
The Steward of Gondor
The Return of the King
May it Be
The Breaking of the Fellowship (Has "In Dreams")

I LOVE :inlove: Lord of the Rings and the sound track, in case you didn't notice.

Howard Shore has written stellar music. The symphonic music of The Lord of the Rings is some of my favorite. I also really like his jazz and classic rock from "That Thing You Do."
“Among the attributes of God, although they are all equal, mercy shines with even more brilliancy than justice.” —Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra

By the way, Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood, was a racist.

I LOVE the LOTR soundtrack. Howard Shore is simply amazing, especially when combined with the beautiful voices of Enya and Annie Lennox.

My favorite are:

Into the West
Gollum's Song
May It Be
Concerning Hobbits
The Breaking of the Fellowship

I listen to all of them every night when I go to bed \:D/.
