German

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

I might be able to repeat some from video games and war movies. They would probably be swears though. :(

I speak/understand only a very little bit at this point...but I'm in the process of learning the language. I want to become fluent and go to Germany for a few months (not necessarily in that order exactly).

Evil Chick was a MK there for quite sometime and is fluent. \:D/

I would highly recommend Rosetta Stone if you are trying to learn the language. And you can learn alot if you go to Germany. I went there this past christmas break with a friend who spent two years there, and between him and the exposure I learned a lot.

HEY! Who gave anyone permission to bring me up in this conversation? :noway:

Anyway, yeah, I was an MK there for like 12 years, so... I know the language. A little. ;)

I took two and half years of it in highschool... I know enough to survive, but little more than that.

Schnell! Schnell! \:D/ Yay for World War 2 movies where that's almost the only thing soldiers say in German!

Other than a very few scattered words, no, I do not speak German. :)

I recognize all the words people have said. My dad took German in high school and used to randomly tell me things that I didn't understand. All I know now is Eine, zwei, drei and Volkswagen. Ooh... and kindergarten! \:D/

Nope, sorry... I'm learning Latin right now. I've got a A+ on that. \:D/

Yup! Watson informed me of that fact - he did take a little German so he knows the meaning of random words. :D

My family is originally German (for those of you who know my last name, this shouldn't come as a surprise) and my Dad knows it, so I know some of the langauge. Couldn't speak it on demand, but I recognize an awful lot of it.

Ty is currently training with a group of German firefighters...

I believe his words were "It sounded like gibberish."

it still sounds like gibberish to me some times, but it is not as hard to learn as Spanish or French.

I should be able to speak more German than I actually can. I took three years of it in school, my father-in-law speaks it, and we had a German exchange student. Most of it is gone, sadly.
