What books are you reading?

In the same vein as movie/music threads...

"Books? You want books?! Ha! We've got books on hairy otters, on onions and on mars! All the fungus you could care for, plus, three triple zillion stars. We've got books on flossing teeth, plus three books on tossing sheep. If we spent our lives just counting books, we'd never get to sleep!" -Leopold the Librarian ("The Great Wishy Woz")

I'm also reading Pride and Prejudice.

I read Christine by s. King the other week. Scarey stuff.

Wow, that was a few posts back... yeah I enjoyed it. I watched the movie first, and I think I liked the book a little better. Go figure. ;)

Haven't gotten around to purchasing Christine yet, but the scariest Stephen King book I read was actually a short story called Gramma. It was in Skeleton Crew.

I just finished The Other by Thomas Tryon last night. VERY very good book. It did have innapropriate material in it :shame: , but not nearly as bad as most secular writers get. That was a great book though.

A Severe Mercy by Sheldon Vanauken is my main read right now. But I'm also reading Captivating (for a second time), Authentic Beauty (for a third time), and Repenting of Religion.

Breaker's Reef by Terri Blackstock

"Rilla of Ingleside" But it's so sad! :sniff: I didn't notice all the war stuff as much when I was younger. Or I noticed, but it didn't impact me. Now I feel like crying every time Walter says anything!

I took a break (for the above reason) and read "The Blue Castle" (my favourite stand-alone L.M. Montgomery book! :inlove:) and "Jane of Lantern Hill." They're both happier.

I'm just about to start "Emily of New Moon" - I just finished a book with short stories by L.M. Montgomery. It was quite interesting to read! Some of the stories definitely sound similar to some stuff from her later books. It was called "Across the Miles: Tales of Correspondence" or something like that.
