Ok, good. I would email you some files to get you going, but you said that my last email was blocked?

Yeah. I guess hotmail is being fussy.

Ok, then I'll try to guide you through step by step.

First thing, open up My Computer, then open up the C drive (the hard drive). And then ADD A NEW FOLDER and name it "DOS".

Okay. Now what? Oh, and if I disappear, I was forced to go to bed. If that happens leave the instructions here or just wait until I'm back or both.

It's 12:30 here, so I may have to get off soon myself. If I don't finish giving you the instructions tonight, I'll get back on in the morning.

Ok, you made a folder called DOS on the C drive?

Ok, open up the DOS folder and created another new folder called "carmen"

Ok, I think that it will work better to copy the whole game off the CD into the Carmen folder. It should run better.

OK, so put the Carmen CD in your CD drive and then go to My Computer and then open up the CD so you see it's contents.

Select all the files on the CD, and copy them all into the CARMEN folder.

If you don't know how, here's how:

Select all the files on the CD, the easy way is to move the pointer into the CD folder window and then press CONTROL A on your keyboard. And then press CONTROL C for copy.

Then open up the CARMEN folder and press CONTROL V to copy the files into the folder.

Well, it's bed time for me. I'll give you the rest of the instructions tomorrow.

OK, once you have all the files from the Carmen CD put into the CARMEN folder, make a short cut for DOSBOX on your desktop.

Ok, good.

Right click on the shortcut, and then select "properties" from the menu.

A window will pop up with info on the short cut.

You will see a text box marked TARGET with text inside that will look something like this:
C:\Program Files\DOSBox-0.72\dosbox.exe C:\Program Files\DOSBox-0.72\dosbox.conf"

What you need to do is to add this into the text: "C:\dos" after the first line of text, so it will look like this:
C:\Program Files\DOSBox-0.72\dosbox.exe C:\dos C:\Program Files\DOSBox-0.72\dosbox.conf"

Here is it marked out with "-" so it will be a little clearer where to add the new text.
C:\Program Files\DOSBox-0.72\dosbox.exe ----C:\dos---- C:\Program Files\DOSBox-0.72\dosbox.conf"

Then press OK after you typed in the new text.

If you mess up then just press cancel, and start over.

'Tis not working 'cause it says that it's not valid. I tried copying the code from your post, adding the word in myself, and capitalizing the DOS. Oh, and here is the original code:

"C:\Program Files\DOSBox-0.72\dosbox.exe" -conf "C:\Program Files\DOSBox-0.72\dosbox.conf"

The new code should look like this then:

C:\Program Files\DOSBox-0.72\dosbox.exe" c:\dos -conf "C:\Program Files\DOSBox-0.72\dosbox.conf

And it should work.

Try deleting everything in the target box, and then copy this into it (quotes included)

"C:\Program Files\DOSBox-0.72\dosbox.exe" C:\dos -conf "C:\Program Files\DOSBox-0.72\dosbox.conf"

Good, now start up DOSBOX.

Type in "dir" and press enter. (DIR is the dos command for "directory")

You should get a directory and see the carmen folder listed.
