Hmm...I haven't heard good things about IT.

Old version of Dawn of the Dead

Misery - Stephen King. it's kinda creepy in parts.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

Psycho

Psycho II (after that, they just get STUPID)

It wasnt very good, it was kinda stupid, and yet it had good acting, and yet it was rather (hinted at) demonized stuff. i saw the new dawn of the dead.

I don't usually watch scary movies...I like the suspense type better, like Signs.

I hate scary movies with a passion. I will never pay to see one and I won't subject myself to watching one for free either.

I am easily terrified and so much of that stuff is just plain demonic and horrific garbage.

I usually stick to the PG-13 scary ones, instead of R rated gorry horror. though you couldn't tell from the list I gave, seeing as half of them are rated R

I've seen tons of movies denoted as "scary" but as of yet haven't found one that actually is. :-s Though I give props to Exorcism of Emily Rose because it was actually realistic.

I am a fan of the genre, though... I just find myself overly amused rather than scared (especially at the Jason and Freddy movies, as they don't take themselves overly seriously).

LOTR fans may want to check out Peter Jackson's first ever film, Dead Alive... O:) :-

I don't mean to be suspicious, but I seem to have a vague recollection of some post you made regarding one's favourite movie involving chainsaws or lawnmowers and Peter Jackson's name being connected to that...may I inquire as to the nature of this recommended film? :-

I never saw any of the Omen movies... though it seems the only reason they remade it was so they could release it on 6/6/06 ;)

Anyway... Emily Rose was great... they actually had Bob Larson (a somewhat well known Christian expert on demon possession, etc) as a consultant, and though the movie is more from a Catholic perspective, its done well and factual (as it is based on a true story.

Though yeah, I consider that more a documentary than a horror movie... and like I think I said in my earlier post... I prefer them to just be over-the-top and silly... not delving into demonic things or whatever.

There is only one movie I can remember being really creeped out by, and that was the Exorcist (or whatever it's called). Watched only a scene or two, and that was enough.

The only three movies I remember being scared of when I was little are Jurassic Park, Congo, and... don't laugh... Stargate.
