Britain's new monarch is King Charles III.

This morning on the radio I heard that the Queen was unwell, but at 96 it started to seem like she was going to live forever, so it was still a surprise to hear of her passing later in the day. Her loss will be felt around the world in different ways. It's going to be hard to get used to saying King Charles.

I did not get up early for the funeral today and then I was at work. I PVRed footage but it was from 3 a.m. to 11 a.m. or something like that, so I don't know if I'll actually watch it or just find a summary reel somewhere. I do want to watch at least some of it. The bit I heard on the news on the radio on my way home from work was quite moving.

Poor Liz, taken from us so soon, she was in the prime of her life.

I personally thought she would live forever. It was starting feel like it would be, anyway...
