Gower's Field Work Day & Picnic

The place where role players come to play! If you want to start an interactive war, chat with real citizens of the town, or find other uses for your faction, this field can accommodate those desires. As with anything else, please try to keep your role playing appropriate... but you're still welcome to have a little fun!

Gower's Field Work Day & Picnic

Post by Bren »

*Mayor McFarland steps to a small stage set up to one side of the event, and begins to speak*

"My fellow Odyessians, as your fairly newly elected mayor, I'm pleased to welcome you to the Gower's Field volunteer work day! Although this field hasn't been used for a while now, and things have gotten a bit, ah, messy - I know that when the people in our community work together, we can make the town great like it was under our forefathers. You can see the trash and recycle bins over by the parking lot. Let's fix this mess so it doesn't look like a tornado ripped through town. There will be refreshments when you are finished. Thanks for coming together to improve the community; I know that we're going to both have a lot of fun and get this field back into shape and better than it has been in years!"

*strolls off to find a root beer for his parched throat*

I hope somebody brought grape soda! I guess I will start picking up those papers over there.

*starts picking up junk mail*

Cool! A coupon for a dollar off a bag of licorice. Why would anyone throw this away?

*looks at the date*

Oh, this is an old coupon. This place really hasn't been cleaned in a while.

*wals over from the cooler*

Don't worry Wooton, I put some NuGrape in the cooler for ya.

*walks off to find someone to help*

It took long enough! Dis here field has been an embarrassment to the whole town. It looks like Rodney's bedroom! If youse don't want to get your hands dirty, I've got here some of these grabber-thingies that you can use to pick up trash, just like the ones on sale at the Electric Palace. Buy two and get one 15% off (with a $20 purchase).

Not that I could afford your prices, but how reliable are these grabbers @Bart Rathbone? They look like plastic toys.

*pulls up in his pickup*

My, this place is filthier than a kid making mud pies! Never fear, Walton's Janitorial Service is here to help.

*starts unloading supplies from the back of the truck*

I guess I'll start powerwashing everything so it looks good.

(Well... Here I go... I haven't rp'ed in a while...)
Hey, the name's Tim, I'm new to the town, but I'll be happy to help out in anyway I can! So, what can I do?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TOO!

Other places are okay
And some are fine
But as far as hometowns go
Well, Odyssey is mine
Oh, it's the place to be
I'm sure you will agree
Have you ever been to Odyssey?

Can you help @bookworm move the picnic tables over there?

*points to a shady spot*

We been going at it for a few hours, and I'd say it's about time to stop and eat.

*while moving tables*

Thanks TDP! It's great to see a new member want to help renovate this place. Based on when you came to town you've never seen anything actually happen in this field. This used to be a big center of our activity. Even after the interest in RPs died down a lot it still had several really fun events over the years. I doubt RP activity will ever return to the level it was at way back when, but I'm definitely hoping we'll have enough interest at some point to get a few things going again now and then.

*puts table down*

Well, that's a real shame. But with the mayoral team we got, it looks like things may start improving!

Alright, I'm ready to eat! I've brought some potato salad!

It'll take lots of elbow grease to bring this field, and this town back to it's former glory. I hope we can live up to the faith you have
in us.

Is that amish potato salad with the egg and sweet relish

I brought tuna sandwiches. They are kinda a staple for my lunch break. But, I might part with a couple if I have to.
