Episode summary
After skipping a fishing trip with his dad, Jason gets caught up in a mystery involving a music box, a few books, and a father's inheritance. My thoughts
A good episode! A fun one-off mystery. And thankfully it was about new characters, instead of some ridiculous yet-another-historical-mystery about one of our well-known characters. The antique store was a great way to introduce this story.
When Jason first reacts to seeing the calendar, and he said it was just a few events on it he hadn't thought about, I was guessing that it was the anniversary of Jerry's death.
The amount of information this Tolliver guy recalls about who bought what at a yardsale is quite remarkable! That seems... the most implausible thing here. Sometimes the amount of luckiness or razor-sharp character ability in a fictional story is the most implausible element.
I like the message about the importance of spending time with your dad.
