Adulting

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

Adulting

Post by Bren »

Since most of our current generation is young adults these days, I thought it'd be fun to talk about our favorite and least favorite things about adulthood. I like having my own apartment, but Bella isn't much help with housework.

Hmmm, least favorite things about adulting?

Work.

Most favorite things about adulting?

Being off of work.

That's very profound. Did you come up with it yourself?

Marriage is a great part of adulting.

Unless you never get married..

So far, I can think of zero things that are good about being an "adult." ...So I'm gonna need more time to think about this.

Legit, I celebrated so hard the moment I qualified to vote. I'm was sick of my voice not being heard and haven't missed an election (even primaries) since.

The way you feel about marriage is the way I feel about driving. Can I please just learn to drive already before I have to move to FL?

I like eating what I want at whatever time works for me. I don't always like making the food, and I do try to keep to a proper schedule, but it's nice to have the option. I like to watch whatever I want. In an example that in no way represents real-life events from today O:) if I want to watch The Avengers for the hundredth time because it was the thing on TV when I turned the TV on, even though I could watch it commercial-free on Disney+ at any time, I like that I can do that.

I do not like doing dishes. My house doesn't have a dishwasher and it isn't worth the money or losing the cupboard space to install one when it's just me. I have developed the bad habit of watching a favourite movie on my iPad as I do dishes so I have something fun to keep me entertained that it doesn't bother me to miss parts of it.

honestly i think the worst part about being an adult is paying rent, which is fairly expensive (admittedly, it's more expensive because i live in a HCOL area, but STILL)

beyond that, i enjoy the freedom to just do whatever i want, travel where and when i want (as long as i can afford it) \:D/

also i hate doing the dishes but we have a dishwasher, so i feel for you catspaw :(

Being an adult means making tough dinner decision choices. :(

This. I'm doing a renal diet to protect my kidneys until I can see a doctor. But that also means that I'm doing this renal diet without guidance. Every meal is so hard because of my over thinking.
