I just heard on the NBC Nightly News that Dave Madden passed away. He was 82.

=[ It is really sad. Dave Madden was such an amazing actor. And Bernard is one of my favourite characters on AIO. He will be missed.

Sad day. Bernard was my favorite character. When Madden stopped coming around to record, it was pretty clear that his health was fading. He will be missed, indeed.

It's sad we don't get to hear him on one more episode. No one could possibly replace him.

I saw that a "Partridge" actor had died, and was afraid to click on the article, knowing what I was going to find. He was definitely one of the best actors around, and he will be missed greatly. It's too bad AIO couldn't have brought him back again in the last few years, just for one more Eugene, Wooton, and Bernard episode.

Have been spending the day listeningto B-TV eps. Will follow with "a story by Bernard" eps. A "Best of Bernard" playlist will be forthcoming in the next couple of weeks. IF AIO does some sort of summer tribute to him as they have others in the past, I might consider lifting my boycott for the summer.

Sad news. The first episode that came to mind is that one where Whit, Wooton and Bernard all try to lose weight. I remember that one fondly.

I was soo sad when I heard the news! I haven't been able to bring myself to tell my sister...it seems like the sort of thing that should be I should tell her in person not via other forms of communication. I really loved all of Bernard's stories! Dave Madden will be greatly missed!

I love Bernard. He is one of my most favorite AIO characters. I am very saddened by this news. Dave Madden will be remembered forever, and he will live on through his work.

The Official AIO Podcast has made a tribute to Dave Madden in their latest podcast. Definitely touching to listen to!

I think that might actually be the longest tribute we've had for an actor who has passed away. About the length of an AIO episode.
