Some interesting scientific breakthroughs...

Evolution might not be as far off as people think

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

That's great. Now can they go do something useful with their time? Like, cure cancer?

No one's allowed to cure cancer, because making treatments for it is too lucrative. ;)

Speaking of which, there are actually ways to cure cancer using diet and high-dose vitamin treatments. But it is illegal in most states because TRYING to cure cancer makes more money than actually curing it. Especially when the cure is something people can do for little to no cost. \:D/

And yes. I am a troll. SUE ME. :x

Napoleon Dynamite is stupid. :P

On topic:

If it isn't actual life they created, I don't care. It's just another science experiment that has no credence on human origins.

First of all, I don't see why they aren't calling it life.

As far as I can tell, they have the three "qualities" of living things.

They:

1. Are able to reproduce.

2. Are able to absorb energy from their surroundings, then use it for their own benefit.

3. Are able to respond to changes in their surroundings.

Second, I want to see this replicated by a completely different group of people in a completely different lab before I believe anything.

Correction.... life is the presence of information, metabolism, and cellular organization. Technically you do not have to be ble to reproduce in order to be alive. Haha.... sorry, my Biology class is turning me into a Bio Nazi. *sits back and watches debate erupt over what life is*

And this "finding" makes me laugh. ahhh the joys of evolution. :D
