I believe if there are too many mods then there's not enough for them to do and some of them end up hardly doing anything (like me when I was a mod :- )

There didn't use to be the mod that automatically combines double posts, so that was one thing mods had to do a lot in the past. My last term I maybe did one edit or move, but that's all.

Part of what moderators do is not just the editing etc, though that is part of their job. Another part is discuss things that come up. Is a certain post okay? Is this practice something that should continue? Is a change needed? As issues arise, they are discussed in the mod board, and even if somebody never combines a double post ;) (I miss those days! Haha) they can still be a helpful contributor. :)
