Sir, it is my solemn duty to inform you that you are missing out. I recommend that you seek out the original trilogy in its original form ("Han shot first!") and watch it accordingly. No matter how well you might think you know the plot from pop-cultural osmosis, they are very well-made, very fun, and in some ways, still very unique movies that you will not regret seeing.

Any of you guys read or heard of Battle Royale? Its a japanese manga which almost has the same concept of putting kids in a desolate place to fight to the death. Except its much more violent, gory, and really messed up. Many people say that Hunger Games copied from it, but I disagree with that assesment. Only people who are really into the Japanese culture and media would have heard about it.

But I admit, I didn't read the book. The movie, however, was awesome. While my friend was mad that they toned down the violence (hey, its PG13 after all) I really loved it. From the camera shots, to the acting, the scripts, and how the movie portrayed "the Games". The only two things I didn't like was the shaky camera (I literally got motion sickness watching the first 10 minutes of the movie) and the apparent love triangle. I don't know, I'm not really into romance, just didn't like how it ended perfectly for Katniss and Peeta like that. Though it did play a role in them beating "the system" of "the Game". I look forward to the next movie.

Peeta and Katniss don't work out just 'perfectly', as it does go on for the next two books :-

What would have been perfect is if the story omitted Rue's death scene entirely. So Peeta and Katniss are standing alone after killing off everybody and they're all like,"Yeah! We won! Booyah!" and then Rue jumps out and kills both of them. \:D/ She runs off saying "So long, suckers!"

That would be "perfect."

Make it Foxface and you've got something.

Impossible I could poison the world with nightlock poison. Well Katniss and Peeta are supposed to be a tough relationship but Peeta was the one who really pushed it and pretty much was successful.
