Genre

Post by Trillspots »

Personally, I'm somewhat of a music fanatic, and listen to pretty much everything except rap, country, and death metal. I can stand them all for short amounts of time but they aren't something I would want to own any of. I don't like opera all that much either, but I don't hate it.
My Genres then, are:

Classical
Jazz
R&B
Contemporary Christian
Soft Rock
Hard Rock
80s Rock
Disco
Electronica
Dance
Soundtracks
Vocal
Pop (Sometimes.)
New Age
Ska
World
Latin

And I own CDs of all of the above genres. I can't pick a favorite, so they're not listed in any particular order. (And I know I missed some, because I can think of other CDs in my CD case that don't fit into any of the above classifications.)

I'm extremely particular about my music. What I like, I really like, and what I don't like, I hate.

I like:

Country
Christian
Worship (All Vineyard)
Broadway
With Josh Groban and John Mayer tied in there somehow.

Lol. Well, on my computer, this one CD, with music paired with thunderstorms, that's termed as "Easy Listening." I thought most music, (Besides rock and rap, ugh, was easy listening. ;))

I think everything is "easy listening," but as for the genre itself, I don't even know how to define it.

Michael W. Smith. He practically is a genre to me! ;)

I like CCM, some pop (not all of it, by far!), and soundtracks. I'm not sure how to term it - I love listening to (and singing along with) my Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat soundtrack, and I have other movie soundtracks that I love too. They aren't all the same genre, so I'm not sure what to choose. Whatever. ;)

My favorite genres are pop and dance. But I love something from everything. The Killers, Bonnie McKee, Joss Stone, The Bangles, P.O.D., Tobey Mac, KJ-52, Dashboard Confessional, The Click Five, Hilary Duff, Jennifer Knapp, and classical stuff like stuff by Fielder and Copland.
