BRAND New Lady Gaga Single 'Judas'!!

It's out! What's the verdict???

Here's the place for discussing music, plays, YouTube videos, and any other media that doesn't quite fit in the other sections of Harlequin Theatre.

From what I've heard, is supposed to be the greatest artistic achievement of Gaga's career thus far. A short snippet of her and her backup dancers practicing the dancing for 'Judas' was included in one of her recent 'Gaga Vision' videos, and the choreography looks SICK. The way she is dancing is almost inhuman. It's gonna be amazing.
Everything Lady Gaga does is the 'greatest artistic achievement of her career thus far'. :-

But, anyways. Tell me, what's the song about? I'm seriously curious.

Go look up the lyrics, you can read for yourself.

Essentially, Gaga uses symbolism and analogy (as is her trademark) and describes how the man she is or was in love with is 'Judas', in the sense that he betrays her, is a horrible person, and yet, she still loves him. She can't tell him no.

She sings, "I'm just a holy fool, oh baby it's so cruel, but I'm still in love with Judas baby." Nothing inherently offensive (unless you are LOKING for something to be offended by......)

Great song, you should listen to the song. Considering you are in a thread about said song and have no basis to form a personal opinion of the song yet. ;-)

I can imagine the music video, Lady Gaga and back up dancers all dancing half naked with an incredibly and unnecessary long intro before they play the actual song.

Its just a guess though, the only MV I didn't mind watching from Lady Gaga was probably poker face. Even though she still had some of that "immodesty" in there.

And that's when I (finally) realized that you were speaking another language. I don't think you're going to convince anyone that way.

I'd say that's probably the case. And that's just one reason I don't listen to modern music.

Again.. WHY ARE KIDS EVEN ON THE INTERNET? :-s We shouldn't have to censor everything for fear of 'offending' little kids who don't even belong on here.
Um, this is a website related to a kids show!!!

That's wonderful. But it's a fan site; it's neither affiliated or endorsed by Focus on the Family, so there's clearly no guarantee of any kind that's related to AIO's content guarantees. Also, it's a phpBB message board, which gives you a basic '13 or under need permission' warning when registering. Hopefully parents realize that the internet is a wild, dangerous monster that is not easily controlled or contained. The ToO also states that people come from a verity of backgrounds and beliefs, and encourages tolerance of that fact.

Also... kids that young shouldn't even know how to use a computer. :x

There are many, many other artists that sing as bad or worse than Lady Gaga. Besides we don't believe in rock music. ;)

Anyway, the only reason I said that, was because someone was complaining about it. phpBB has given kids permission, soo...

no actually I just posted a facepalm smiley, since it was the only appropriate response I could think of. \:D/

The other part of your message was blaming the fact that little kids are on the internet on the fact that this phpbb board lets them. Which is also pretty ridiculous. \:D/

I actually thought that smiley was very funny, in response to my answer. :D

Actually, I did not say that. One of the other ToO'ers (maybe you) was saying that kids shouldn't be on the internet, and I was just defending them. So, I think you were the ridiculous one. ;)

Actually my point still stands. Not 7-8 year olds, anyway. Kids that age should still be learning how to read or something. :noway:

For the record, the past few posts have NOTHING to do with the topic.

Has anyone taken a liking to the song since it's been out for a little while now?

So I just watched the music video, and at first I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't resemble some disgusting porn movie. However.. I ended up being disgusted at the concept, which was basically a butchered depiction of Jesus' trail and Judas' betrayal of him, with Gaga playing the role of Mary Magdalene and basically just stealing the show. From what I've heard, the director claims to be a Christian and wanted there to be a meaningful message in the video.. but all I saw with Gaga throwing herself into the center of attention and just distracting from whatever Jesus-leading-a-biker-gang concept there was supposed to be. :noway:

My prediction of the music video was only half right.

Agreed.

However that is what makes her a marketing genius. By creating controversy, you get both publicity and money. But then again what hasn't Lady Gaga did that wasn't controversial?
