For The Homeschooled

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

I know there are a few of you and I am curious what curriculum you use. Anybody heard of or use Switched on Schoolhouse?

I've never heard of either of those. We use My Father's World.

She left many of us behind. She left us heartbroken. And though we cry now there'll come a time when we'll laugh. Because we'll see her again someday. We'll be with her in heaven. And when we go to heaven she'll be there to greet us. She'll be there to say "Welcome home." -From a poem that SnC wrote about her grandmother

I've heard of it, but we used BJU Press. :) SOS is more of a computer curriculum, right?

Is it any good now? The private school I started at in 3rd grade switched to that and I never really got as much out of it as I did in 2 years of public school.

I've never heard of the programs that you have mentioned, Regis. I use a mix of curriculum. Bob Jones, A Beka, ACE, Saxon, and others.

Now an ACE person. I hated when we switched from that to SOS.

Mmm, there are things that are good about it, and then there are ways that they say things, and it hardly makes any sense. >.>

So I don't know really how to answer that, it's definitely gotten better than what it used to be, that's for sure.

SOS made me hate math. It was better when I used Saxon, and much better with a real teacher.

Kindergarten was a blast with ACE. Like Gary Goldfish for example.

I used SOS for a while. It stunk. Parts of it were okay, but most of it was pretty...lame.

I use pretty much all A Beka. It's good and hard and I like it. I used Apologia's science for awhile and it was one of the worst school experiences of my life.

Or the Aging Ape! I don't remember the goldfish though... Did you sing the songs that went along with it?
