Hey everyone just to let you know tonight from 8:30-9:30pm LOCAL TIME, turn off the power because today is Earth Hour and if you want to be a part of the worldwide team, you should turn off your power from 8:30 to 9:30pm. Just thought you would know ;)

I may be at a concert at that time, so my computer/lights will be off incidentally, but I would do Earth Hour even if I wasn't gone. :)

But what if the imbalance in electrical distribution altered the earth's orbit and sent us flying into the sun?

Yep! In seven minutes, I'll be turning on every light in the house!

So the point of this was what, exactly? ;)

I'm all for not needlessly leaving lights on but I don't see the point of making sure they are turned off at a specific hour. :noway:

That night during that time we were watching a video and popped some popcorn on the stove. We didn't know about Earth Hour. :P Even if we had, I doubt we would have changed our plans. ;)

ooh..Earth Hour! I usually don't celebrate it, but this year, my small group turned off the lights, lit candles, and sat around making baby blankets for our local pregnancy centre. T'was fun.

I don't typically do Earth Hour because it's right after kids go to bed and just when I finally have time to do stuff. I do, however, celebrate Earth Day. Now more than before, as it's my youngest daughter's birthday. :D

I would guess because most people share your opinion that it ‘should’ be done, but may find it easier to actually do it when there’s a set time for it. :shrugs:

I will not be inconvenienced by a planet! :x

I dunno most things with "Earth" attached to it tend to be a front for Al Gore so I usually ignore them. ;)

This.

I have never heard of ‘Earth Hour’ before, but even if I had known about it I wouldn’t have participated.

TBH with you guys, I don't really care, since I don't get the point...

Looks like I can safely avoid watching "Battlefield Earth," then. ;)

Actually that might be one of few things worse than Al Gore. ;)
