Books Discussion
I have been reading the book Why I left the Comtemporary Christian Movement. by Dan Lucarini
and Can We Rock the Gospel? by John Blanchard and Dan Lucarini.
This is a wonderful book. If any of you can get ahold of a copy of either book, let me know. I own them so it doesn't matter how long it takes for you to get either. If you plan on getting either book, please sign up below. We can read a section or two a week. There are 19 sections. Enjoy reading and I look forward to discussing it with you!

Okay... Well I already don't think I'll read it after seeing the title.
For drums in church!
But... let's not get into that right now.

What denomination? All I know is my church believes we can have a whole rock band on stage and it's fine.iluvsns wrote:It's by a former Worship Leader. He knows what he's saying.

Totally. I don't see why not!Steve wrote:What denomination? All I know is my church believes we can have a whole rock band on stage and it's fine.iluvsns wrote:It's by a former Worship Leader. He knows what he's saying.
Baptist. You should give the book a chance. He has very good arguments.Steve wrote:What denomination? All I know is my church believes we can have a whole rock band on stage and it's fine.iluvsns wrote:It's by a former Worship Leader. He knows what he's saying.

Ok but I don't think my opinion will change.
Ok but I am not paying money for it. I think i'll order it from the library so it might take about a week.iluvsns wrote:Please at least read it! You're allowed to disagree. I said we'd discuss it!

I have read the book, iluvsns, and it is currently sitting about 10 feet away from me. It is a very good book, indeed!

Well, it's been a long time since I last read it. From what I remember, the author gives a great case for not listening to most of modern-day music. As you said, he is a former rock worship leader, so that gives him a bit of credibility in my opinion. I do recommend this book to anyone, really - CCM-listeners or not.

Hmmm, I'd certainly like to read it. I'm very interested in seeing how someone would prove that I'm sinning by praising God.
If I can find it. They don't have it at my local library, and I probably won't buy it. So...we'll see if they have it at my church library.
Okay. I hope it works out. If not... I have another one we could use. "Can we Rock the Gospel?"
Same here!ric wrote:Hmmm, I'd certainly like to read it. I'm very interested in seeing how someone would prove that I'm sinning by praising God.
Look up "Can We Rock the Gospel?" If enough people can find that, I'll be fine with it.
