grape juice floats
grape juice floats
Whenever I listened to For the Fun of It I always chuckled at the line about grape juice floats, but never gave it much more thought. But recently I’ve really been wondering what that would taste like.
So a few days ago, to finally satisfy my curiosity, I actually made and consumed a grape juice float.
And to my surprise, it was actually very good! Really! I had another one yesterday.
Has anyone else ever tried Wooten’s favorite?

That sound's really crazy fun. I might try it sometime.
I just poured some grape juice in a cup and plopped some ice cream in it. Vanilla of course.

I've made that! I love mixing vanilla ice cream with miscellaneous drinks (cola, other sodas, hot chocolate, etc., and grape juice of course! ).

That sounds good. I'll try it next time I have grape juice.

Yeah, I mix it with all kinds of sodas (my favorite is Dr. Pepper), so if you think about it it’s not all that crazy. I mean, it’s basically a grape smoothie that's not blended.
That sounds delicious! I'll have to make one sometime!

Not all of it. I used grape juice a friend makes themself. It’s purely from grapes, nothing added. It’s literally grape juice.iluvsns wrote:Grape juice is sickeningly sweet. *shivers*
The idea is you add sugar and water, but I just drink it ‘raw’ so it’s rather bitter, but I love it.

But sets them on edge in a good way, right? That sounds delightfully sour.iluvsns wrote:Even thinking about it sets my teeth on edge.bookworm wrote:Not all of it. No... it makes me think of having my braces coated in unsweet sugar.Boswell wrote:But sets them on edge in a good way, right? I've never tried a grape juice float, or hot chocolate float either, but I've tried sparkling cider floats! those are really good
Till the end of the line.

I miss snocones! Grape was one of my favorites. We have 'grape/green apple' juice in Sweden. It's good once you get over the fact that it doesn't taste like 'welch's.' There is also a grape jello dessert you can make with grape jello, blueberry pie filling and pineapple called Grape Balls of Fire, but don't remember the porportions. No jello in Sweden either.

I've never even considered eating a grape juice float, but suppose I could try it sometime. I like eating vanilla ice cream, orange juice, and ginger ale/7-Up/Sprite. It's pretty good.

It's called a purple cow. It can also be made with grape soda.
I've never tried one, but with all this talk, knowing now that it is an official AIO drink, I will have to try it.

I actually saw grape soda at Texas Burger in Sweden! Unfotunately, it's made with cane sugar and I'm diabetic, but it was nice to know it exists here.

Ooh, now I really, really want one of those! I love grape juice, and it sounds delicious. The only problem is....no vanilla ice cream in the house at the moment. Would chocolate chip cookie dough work, I wonder? And my sister has soy vanilla ice cream, but not the true milk kind. I bet it would work pretty well though. Maybe I'll try it after breakfast.
