Private Message Milestone

Post by Shadowpaw »

Everyone,

I was just doing some checking... as of sometime yesterday, the Town of Odyssey set a new milestone. This time in regards to private messaging. We, as citizens, have sent 22471 private messages in the nearly 4 months we've been around. In the 32 months the Town Hall has been open, 22420 messages have been sent. That is an incredible accomplishment! =D>

Merely drawing comparison's EK, unfortunately I need a reference point for a lot of my statistics... and since the Town Hall is so well known here, I think it's easier to draw parallels to something we are all familiar with.

Sweet! I wonder who sent most of them. It certainly wasn't me.

How much data have we moved thus far Shadowpaw?

This stat just means that we are keeping too many secrets I say we get rid of private messages all together and post freely in the forums everything we have to say to each other.

Some things are better to do through PMs, like if people are trying to decide who they want to run for mayor with, or are making election plans. Also, sometimes siblings are on the same board, and PMs can be useful. For example, my brother and I are both members here, and often use PMs during the school year as a way to communicate, since I am not at home then - like e-mailing, but easier. Sometimes it's nice to have a conversation and know that hundreds of other people aren't reading it. ;)

Yes, in fact let's not stop there. We should know what everyone else thinks about us too! We should carry a device with us that we can point at any username at anytime to find out precisely what they are thinking. Then we would have know secrets or frustration!

Is this the platform you'll stand on during your mayoral campaign? ;)

Oh, my - with an invasion of privacy issue like that, I just don't think that I could bring myself to vote for David O, no matter how cool he is, or how much Azhiem has done for humankind. ;)

...good point, Odivad. ;) Besides, how chaotic would it be if the forums were used for the purposes private messages are usually used for? I'm guessing that it would flood with topics where only two people are "allowed" to talk with each other.

Congratulations, ToO.
