The Duggars?

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

I don't understand threads like this. "What do you think of so-and-so?" What, are we to rate families on a scale of 1 to 10?

Umm, I think he just means what your opinion is of some of their practices and beliefs- not of them as people, since we obviously don't know them and cannot comment. I don't see a poll asking for you to rate them on a scale from 1 to 10 ;). This is simply called a discussion, at the moment.

I just finished reading their book, The Duggars: 20 and Counting...very interesting! \:D/ I think they have a great testimony as a family being open to God's blessings.

I hadn't heard about the new baby being born prematurely. Hopefully she'll be alright.

I'm guessing that Samwise is asking for more information. Someone who hasn't heard of the Duggars is going to be be totally confused here. (in fact, I was until I read Laura's post, since I sure couldn't remember who they were.) Context, people!

Well, someone always tells me to Google something if I don't know the context...

Well, I think I remember watching one of the episodes last summer... But it was after 12 so I was half zoned out. =P Personally, I think 19 kids is just over the top. But that's just me. *shrugs*

Telling people to Google something is alright (and in some cases, I think you should.) However, in a discussion like this, it makes a lot more sense to explain what you're talking about. ;)

They have a TV series so I'm not sure a detailed explanation is needed... but whatever, I think they are weird and rate them a 3/10! \:D/

I give them a 5, they've got a good beat and you can dance to them.

Wait...they aren't a band? (looks for picture....)

Woah, they aren't a band. They're the Von Tropps singers with an accompanying orchestra.

I don't know how many little Brians we could handle running around the ToO, though. :anxious:

10/10! You can't really rate a family, which is why I'm giving them such a high rating. There is nothing wrong with them. Whatever they decide to do is their choice. If they want to have a million kids and star in a tv show, so be it. Man, I would hate it if people based my life off a scale of one to ten!

I don't watch their show but they come across to me as being a very friendly, happy family.
