There are deep and sincere relationships between characters, which is rarely found in a boys series. There is major romance and a general lack of the grotesque descriptions that tend to frequent guy books. Also, many fans of the said series are also fans of the Twilight book series by Stephanie Meyer, which does not draw many guy readers, thus implying that a great many of these readers are, indeed, girls.
