The First Poll Is Up!
I received a total of 10 entries (including my own), there are 85 movies/film series in this contest, and I will not cheat or give advantage to anyone (including myself). I merged several films into series (such as The Lord of the Rings trilogy), and if a series is the winner, we can hold a bonus poll to decide to best film in that series. Polls will be open for 2 days each. There will be 5 main polls, a semi-final and a Grand Finale. I will update this thread and header every time a new poll is available, so please be ready to vote again and again! IMPORTANT: Even if you didn't submit an entry, please vote in the polls!

This should be fun! And you may tell us what films you voted for in this thread.

Welcome to The "Greatest Movie of All-Time" Contest!

What is this?
This is a contest/vote where we will decide "the greatest movie of all-time", according to ToOers.
How will it work?
ToOers will PM me their top ten favorite movies. They must be listed from 1-10 (#1 being the best). Once I have 100 movies (or perhaps less), I will create several polls on this page, and the winning movies will move on to the next round. We will narrow it down to 10 movies out of the hundred, then down to 2, then the grand winner.
What can I do?
First of all, PM me your top-ten favorite movies! Then, vote in every poll to decide the winner!
Is there a prize?
Yes. For one, we'll know what movie ToOers like best. But also, the user who first suggested the winning film will receive $10!

When does all this great stuff begin?
Right away! Please get me your favorite movies, and we'll begin this contest as soon as possible!

Well, you can do either. I want your favorites, or the movies you think are the greatest. Don't just say, "I'll pick Gone With the Wind because a lot of people like it." Choose movies that you like the most.

Can we list a trilogy or something as one or do they have to take up three slots?

I would hope that you could list it as one...

Yes, you may. Anne of Green Gables, LOTR, etc. may be listed as a series.

Yeah, I sent in a list but beyond the top few it was mainly random movies that I liked... I couldn't really narrow it down to that finite of a top 10.

Yeah, it is hard to make a totally accurate favorite movies list, but I picked ten (some obscure) good ones.

I would send the enter of The Lord of the Rings in, but to be honest, that's just my personal opinion. There are just too many good movies out there to choose from in order to make an accurate assessment labeling one movie 'the best movie of all times'.

Then 10 random favorites of yours will do fine (including LOTR)! It doesn't have to be a perfect list; I just would like some general favorites to add to the contest.
