Yay! I've never heard of any of those people!

(And you could revive the SBC by posting it there instead of here. Well, never fear. It'll come back, just like Aslan!)

LOL! They look so alike. Narnia's new villain is Mr. Clean?!?

Oh... I've never read the books, so I assumed he was the new villian. If he's not, then which of these characters is?

You really should. Really.
Drinian is the ship's Captain!

Several of my siblings have read them... maybe I will in the near future.
Termite wrote:Oooo, he'll make a good captain!

Yes, he does look like a good captain. This movie should be very good!

I'm not very into the Narnia movies... they're just tacky, I think. They try too hard to be epic and magical and just end up seeming like a ride at Disney or something

You might want to give the next one another chance since they switched directors.

He did a very good job directing Amazing Grace. I haven't seen any of his other projects, so I really don't know how this will turn out.

Hmm, I'll wait and see.... but I'm just not sure if Narnia can ever fare as well onscreen as something like LOTR.
It needs more subtlety. Like Where The Wild Things Are.
I love that.

NOTHING can beat LOTR.
But ya, the Narnian movies are just bad because they're far too kid friendly... big battle scene where all the actors just pretty much fall down.
Of course, the second one was better. But the first one was too cheesy.

There's never a "sense of danger", really. You don't ever feel as though someone could die. There's no buildup, really. It's just all so distant and cheesy - they really have a hard time connecting, I think. There just really, really needs to be more subtlety.

They try to suggest that Peter might die in his duel with Miraz... but yeah.
I don't have a problem with books written for kids being made into kid-friendly movies. Only makes sense to me. What annoyed me was all the complaining:
1. The "shockingly hideous" creatures in the first movie. Not everyone who was complaining about that fits certain stereotypes either.

I thought the creatures were appropriately portrayed as the book suggested and they didn't take up much of the film either.
2. All the violence in Prince Caspian. Really? Where? I partly blame Disney for their marketing of the movie in hopes of attracting more teens with a "darker Narnia." But as someone who can't stomach lots of violence, I can say that the battles in Prince Caspian didn't bother me at all.

Yeah, it wasn't terribly bad. For the sake of the series, I hope The Dawn Treader doesn't keep down the path of PG13-ish violence (or close to that), though it didn't disturb me.

That is correct.
The only major concern I have is that the scene at the Dark Island and the scene with the
be done properly. If those scenes are messed up, then I will be quite upset.

Meh, I actually have to agree with xiao on this one. The movies have all seen rather.. tacky to me.
And Jellyfish, you're right. NOTHING can beat LOTR

.
Prince Caspian really irked me, actually... it was just kind of stupid, in my opinion. The biggest aggravations were the romance (and GAY flirting lines) between Caspian and Susan.. and how they tried to make her out to be some sort of female Legolas. HELLO. Susan is NOT Legolas.
And it also seemed like they stole a lot more from LOTR than just Susolas.
Yeah. I'm going to have issues with any movie that plagiarizes from my FAVORITE movie. I hated Eragon for this reason, come to think of it.
