The director is excellent and the movie looks very original and intense. I think perhaps it was advertised poorly, but it could be great.

I just recently saw this and WOW - this movie was absolutely amazing, one of the best I have seen all year and perhaps the best alien movie ever made.
Go see it.
NOW.
Dude as I told you on the phone...if it doesn't have Will Smith in it...it can in no way be the best alien movie ever.

Reviews say a completely different story, but the trailer was pretty dumb, I thought. I might see it though since apparently it is a lot better than they advertised it as being!

Top, you have no idea. Trust me, go see this movie - it's absolutely awesome and insanely unique.

Anyway, I read a couple reviews for it and it looks pretty cool. I like the plot, it makes me think of these old twight-zone-ish radio shows (called X Minus 1) that I listen to alot. But it might be a bit too graphic for my taste. I don't have a problem with limbs being ripped off, but tell me Xiao, does it happen right in front of your face?

The violence in the film is certainly surprisingly... well... violent.
It doesn't absolutely love to linger in violence, though, like Saw or Hostel or anything like that - the main source of violence comes from this gun one of the characters uses that basically just obliterates anything that it shoots into a thin mist... haha. It's basically on the level of Watchmen or something like that - and the violence is mostly of a "WOAH, COOL!!" variety rather than a gross kind - however there is some gross stuff in the film (you couldn't really call it violent, but it's gross)
