Shin Splint? By the sounds of it, you don't know what a splint is, because you wouldn't be recovering from IT...
Most likely, a shin splint is something to splint your shin.... but don't get me wrong, to get better, WEAR IT! Unlike my friend Olivia, you should get better soon... AS LONG AS YOU WEAR IT!
