Has anyone read Uglies or Pretties?

"Books? You want books?! Ha! We've got books on hairy otters, on onions and on mars! All the fungus you could care for, plus, three triple zillion stars. We've got books on flossing teeth, plus three books on tossing sheep. If we spent our lives just counting books, we'd never get to sleep!" -Leopold the Librarian ("The Great Wishy Woz")

Ouf of them all Extras (the fourth book) was the worst, but it was still pretty good. Just not as good as the first three.

It's a series about a futuristic world. The world as we know it was destroyed by a human created virus that brought our cilivization to it's knees, nearly killing everyone and everything. Well, in book, the worlds kind of picked itself up again and created a "controlled" world. At the age of 16, every teenage will have an opperation to turn them from normal aka "ugly" to pretty. It's every teen's dream that one day they'll become pretty and live in Pretty Town (a secluded town in the middle of their city that is a constant party). The people living in the city have NO contact with the outside world. They don't even know if there's anyone else on the face of the planet and they don't really care.

It is a book with a girl as the main character, and it's written by a man. You're point? :noway:

I love them. And in my opinion, the first is the best. It's before anything came in between Tali and David... :-

But all of them are really good. And I agree that the fourth was the worst. But it was still pretty good.

I just finished the last two a few days ago. Extras is my least favorite.
Good books though.

RPG? Yeah. IDK if I'll do one but I've thought about it...

I saw the third one on a friend's desk and asked about it... mostly because I recognized the cover thanks to the ToO! :D Sounds interesting.

I want to read them!!! I plan on reading them this summer.

The author, Scott Westerfield, is awsome. I read his book Peeps and it's sequel, The Last Days. They were great.

They almost had similar subject, virusis!

I have now, and I like it. :D Idk if the admin would let us, but I think it'd be sweet to start two or three topics, one for each city.
And during what book would our story take place?

I didn't like Peeps and The Last Days as much as the Uglies books. They were good, but they lacked the ingenius amount of imagination and creativity that the Uglies had.
