The Hunt for Gollum

Post by J-man »

Anyone ever heard of this? It's a fan film that set to release only online on Sunday (for free!). It's 40 minutes long and follows Aragorn as he searches for Gollum to find out what he knows about the ring. The actors they have playing Aragorn and Gandalf actually look fairly similar to the ones from the trilogy by Peter Jackson. (Gandalf looks and sounds almost identical) They had hardly any budget, but it looks pretty amazing (the trailers do anyway). I'm looking forward to seeing how good it is.

There's also another one that other people are working on that's gonna be released this fall:

It looks even better!

I watched it! As someone who doesn't have strong feelings towards LOTR one way or the other (I saw the films when they came out and thought they were okay, and I read the trilogy for a Tolkien class that fulfilled a college literature requirement.), I enjoyed it. The film was compelling - it held my interest the entire time - and I'm impressed by the great lengths the fans went to produce this project. This intense collaboration by fans reminds me of another project... Anyways, I would highly recommend it to LOTR fans but also think that someone with a passing interest in LOTR might enjoy it.

Thank you for posting the link, J-man! I never would have known about this otherwise.

Yes he has! \:D/

I thought it was good, very good quality for a fan-made film with very little budget. The only thing was, it wasn't long enough! :noway:

So yeah, I would recommend it if you need something to do for 40 minutes or so. \:D/

I watched it. It was really good. Better than the professional ones. :D
