If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!
I'm not sure how it works on the free hosting providers, but for me, I upload the files, modify the html, configure everything and then run it on a test board to ensure it won't break everything and then upload it for everyone here. Now that this board is so complex, compared to your normal php board, it's harder and harder to modify without breaking something else.
More than thirty. There are a few very small modifications and then there are several major ones. Unfortunately the more mods you install, the more unstable the board becomes, and we're at a point right now where unless I think something is absolutely essential... I won't install it.
When I had a board I would edit the PHP filethen upload....all the downloadable mods are is instructions on what to edit...and maybe some fresh files to add and some images sometimes
Installing the mods is pretty easy until you get one that needs you to modify at least 15 files. Then the mod installer is useful, unless it doesn't support the mod. 30 mods though, wow. I can definitely see how that could get unstable really quickly.
