Regents'

Do you guys know what regents are?? We take them in New York State, and i don't think harly any other state's do

there just like a final, but they don't count for your average. all the teachers try to make a big deal out of them, when really that don't matter that much, you have to pass them to pass the class, but you can retake them. Although they show up on your transcripts, you can have them show up pass/fail

and you don't take them ever year:
math is usually every year and a half
english is 2 and a half or 3 years
social studies 1 or 2 years
Language 3 or 4 years
science every year

and those change too...it's really confusing. plus we have finals to when there isn't a regents!!ahhhhh!! i had to take 4 this year which is a considerable ammount. the only good thing is it only matters if you pass, which i am not planning on failing any, it's actaully less stress than a final. but teachers tend to make a big deal out of them, saying colleges look at them, but most people out of NY state don't even know what they are!!

I've never heard them mentioned in relation to a college. All they talk about is GPA, SAT, ACT.

yaeh, but it's really stupid becuase they're like top security, and no teachers can see them before they kids recieve them to take the test!!

they are a pain, cause the teachers don't know what is going to be on them. with finals, the teacher make them up, and they know what is on them and can kinda prepare you for them, not with regent's
