Seriously, are there all Yanks and people from out west on this board? I feel like I'm the only Southerner.
Where are you fellow Rebels and Southerners?

I'm a Southerner, but since the Confederacy is rather nonexistant, I'm an American.

Would it upset you if another northerner posted here? I consider myself from the northeastern part of the United States of America.

I'm a Virginian, so I guess that means I'm a Southerner.

Ya, there are quite a few Virginians, but if your talking about the deep south, I know Regis Blackbeard is.

I'm a Southerner, but my ancestors were pacifists during the Civil War. That was actually a pretty common stance in NC at the time.

Except for Virginia, airports, and cruise ship starting points, I've never been in the South. That's actually the only U.S. region I've never visited

Well, seeing as how Richmond, Virginia was the capital of the Confederacy, I'd say it sure does

I've lived most of my life in the south, and my family has deep southern ties. We used to own a plantation down there way back when, and all of my relatives (save for the ones who were immigrants from Italy three generations back) fought on the side of the south

Is this deep in the south where everyone adds at least one syllable to every word?

To be honest, I still have absolutely no clue why people stick to arbitrary psuedo-historical dividing points like this.
Regardless, was Minnesota even a state at the time of the Civil War? I mean, they had the Louisiana Purchase, but I'm not even sure my town is part of the land they obtained in it.
