What's the best way to make someone smile?

w00t! INTERESTING!

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

What's the best way to make someone smile?

Post by Frank »

Usually...the best way to make someone smile that I've found is to simply smile at them. Any other techniques?

:D (Are you smiling yet?)

Say something goofy and odd - they'll either smile (and you know they're the kind of person that you want to be friends with) or run away screaming (so they'll never, ever come close enough to you to be your friend, so you don't have to worry about their problems).

It's a foolproof plan! \:D/

Tell a joke... that often works for me... although the smile at them first to get them to smile back technique is a pretty good one. :)

I like this thread. I needed it terribly yesterday though. Hmm making people smile. I encourage them and remind them how special they are to me, others and especially to God. \:D/ \:D/ \:D/

I also smile at them and crack jokes and use silly smilies when its online.

Oh...well, maybe I was just fishing for compliments.

Or maybe I wanted people to give me legitimate advice for real life situations.

Hey JF! You're another good friend to me online. :)

Frank... offline, smiling at people really does help a lot. My parents taught me that and it's helped me a lot in life. Especially when dealing with those a lot older than myself... :anxious:

That's the best way. Just stare at someone and grin at the same time. :)

Agreed.

It may not even put a smile on someone else's face, but at least it's nicer to look at than a frown. :(

Mellow, I've done that too! (it worked!)

Put a bow (like for presents) on the top of your head and act as if you don't know it's there.

This thread is making me laugh! :D
