Toy Story 3

Post by Arla »

I think we all can agree that Toy Story 2 is without a doubt Disney's best sequel in a long line of second movies that make you want to cry. (not in a good way.) So when I was listening to a interview with John Ratzenberger and he made reference to Toy Story 3, you can imagine the oh noooooooooo, feeling that crossed my mind. If true, this could be bad, really bad.
Just smell those burning leaves, the warm baked bread, and the hot apple cider. Ahhh.

Since the merger of Pixar went through, we should actually have much less to fear about the outcome of this. The guys that developed the characters originally will have control over it. Before the merger, there was a Disney-produced one in the works, but that was tossed the minute Lasseter got in there. Here's the imdb link; it is expected to release in 2010.

Oh, and Toy Story 2 totally does make me cry (in a good way) during the "When She Loved Me" scene. :anxious:

They announced Toy Story 3 a while ago. They're gonna re-release Toy Story 1 and 2 in IMAX 3D before 3 comes out.

Me too. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I like the Incredibles the best of what I've seen... the others were all okay... above average from the usual animated stuff that comes out these days! \:D/

But yeah isn't this old news? Or am I thinking of the originally announced, and then cancelled one or something? :anxious:

I don't understand why you guys are freaking out. Toy Story 2 was awesome, because it was the same team that made the original movie and it was given the theater treatment. Most Disney cheapquels are deliberately given a lower budget and they hire a different team.

True, in fact I know the sequels that were first being made (Lion King 2, Mulan 2, Little Mermaid 2...) were made by the TV animation department. They were made for direct-to-video rather than a theatrical release. There is a big difference in the time and energy invested in them, and it is quite apparent. I just don't think we have to worry about that with either Cars 2 or Toy Story 3, as the feature animation guys from Pixar are handling them.
