Have you?

"Books? You want books?! Ha! We've got books on hairy otters, on onions and on mars! All the fungus you could care for, plus, three triple zillion stars. We've got books on flossing teeth, plus three books on tossing sheep. If we spent our lives just counting books, we'd never get to sleep!" -Leopold the Librarian ("The Great Wishy Woz")

yeah. i read them all, and they were pretty intense. they rock, but are a little too focused on describing the land in such detail. i was like, 'okay. we get it. the land is pretty. now, get on w/ the story." but, you know how stuff is...

and ILoveRichardMaxwell are you, like, obsessed with LOTR or something? :-s

So you lost your trust,
And you never should have.
No, you never should have.
But don't break your back
If you ever see this,
But don't answer that.
In a bullet proof vest
With the windows all closed,
I'll be doing my best
I'll see you soon.

I've read them, and they are great! (Although Tolkien did like describing things, didn't he!)

The fact that they are so descriptive is part of what makes them great. Yes, I have read them.

J.R.R Tolkien's mentor was C.S. Louis...We're talking about the guy that writes sentences 100 words or more long!

I have read the trilogy and The Hobbit, although it was a long time ago. I really should read them again now that I'm older....

I liked them - but I wasn't crazy about the trilogy. Mostly all the battle stuff is what wasn't my thing. Now that I've seen the movies though, I do want to go through the series again. :)

Yeah, they did a great job on the movies! Now you can read the books after you have seen the movie, and picture as you're reading what everyone looks like! \:D/
