Unfortunate update concerning my dog...

...is really old, and likely on her deathbed, according to the vet.

So yeah, it'd be great if she pulls through whatever she has and lives a few more months or a year or whatever relatively pain free, but at her age I realize that this could be it... and I'm definitely okay with that. So basically while it'd be awesome if she pulls through and is fine, my main prayer request is that if she is about to die that its somewhat "quick and painless" and she doesn't have a prolonged illness or something... though really we'd probably have to have her put to sleep at that rate, and I'd rather not do that, either. But hey if you want to pray that she lives to be a healthy 35 years old that's cool, too.

So yeah, that, and if you could pray for my family and me since I've had Mandy for over half my life it'll be tough stopping at my parents and her not being there to greet me.
EDIT:
Hey, again, thanks everyone for your prayers. She was doing really well the last couple weeks but early this week she totally nosedived and is worse than she was the last time... so we are going to have her put down by the vet at 4:15 this afternoon... so... yeah, your prayers now especially would be appreciated.

Oh, I'm sorry about your dog Top. I know how if feels to lose a pet you have had for a while. I was pretty upset when my cat died a little over a year ago.
I will be praying for you.

Poor Mandy...

I had a bad feeling you were the starter of this topic, Top. I don't even know your doggie in real life, but I think I'll still miss her.

Thanks everyone for your prayers!
In her continued effort to defame my name and make me a liar, she was somewhat improved yesterday and is almost back to normal today.

Which is good, obviously, though I'm hesitant to become too optimistic because there are still a lot of variables, and she is on strong medication... but at least if she goes now she's feeling better, so that's good...
Anyway, I will keep this thread updated...

That's great to hear, Top. I used to have a dog, but we put her down because she had liver failure.

I'll keep your dog in mind.

And... it is finished.
It's sad, but at the same time a relief... I felt horrible the whole day but actually somewhat better after it was all over. Though I know I'll really miss her when I visit my parents because she would always greet me at the door.

My uncle got married like 2 years ago and the reception was at my grandmother's house and her husband is American Indian so they have wolves and one of them was really REALLY old and had bad arthrites. we were going to take her fro a walk but when we got to the end of the street she just sat down and wouldn't get up and i sent my cousin to go get a car to get the dog. My grandmother was pretty shook up but we had to have her put down unfortunatly. that's my only experience with that kind of thing. I kinda felt guilty because it seemed like it was my fault that she had to be put down. I still feel bad about it.
I hope your okay now. Hopefully you'll get a new friend soon! : )

I've lost two dogs in my lifetime, so I understand how you feel, Top.
One was found dead by my dad...his name was Buddy.
The other one...got in the way of my dad's huge box van when he was backing into the garage and...*sniff*...he was no longer.
My dad was crushed. He loved Winnie (the other dog, yes, like "the Pooh")...we all did.
It gets better. =)
