"Books? You want books?! Ha! We've got books on hairy otters, on onions and on mars! All the fungus you could care for, plus, three triple zillion stars. We've got books on flossing teeth, plus three books on tossing sheep. If we spent our lives just counting books, we'd never get to sleep!" -Leopold the Librarian ("The Great Wishy Woz")
I was wondering how many of yall have seen/ heard of the "Christy" series/ book/ or the movies by Hallmark..Its a great story about faith, love, and learning.
I have the Catherine Marshall book and the CBS TV series with Kellie Martin on DVD, but I no longer get the Hallmark Channel as my cable TV provider took it digital. I have not seen these movies.
yuppie.
My mom (I think) has all the book, I haven't gotten a chance to read them yet.
But I've seen the movie's.
The one where she get;s married is sad. She should have married the preacher guy.

In the series he doesn't heal her..but i think they still would have ended up together! If Christy were real and I were her, even if i hadn't got sick, i would have married neil!

I don't remember Christy getting married. I could just not be remembering well since I read the book awhile ago. I've read the big Catherine Marshall book and the little book condensed series and have seen the first movie, though I'm not sure who made it.
In the book, it was almost implied that she might marry Neil, although it didn't actually happen. All the way through, he was NOT a Christian, until when Christy was near death with typhoid at the end. He broke down, realizing that he, the mighty doctor, could do nothing to save her...God was totally in control of EVERYTHING. He repented of his stubborness and pride, etc. The book ended with Christy waking up. So really, if the book had gone on longer, they probably would have gotten married, since he was then a Christian.
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance. ♡
David. And he had his problems as well...just going into the ministry to please his mother, not really even communicating with Christy, etc. Once Neil became a Christian, I think he was a better man than David.

I read the original book a long time ago (and should probably read it again!) but I liked Neil better than David too. He seemed more genuine and not as annoying. David seemed too immature.

(anybody notice that Neil in the movies...is played by a guy who's in National Treasure?)
Yes! I think I thought the voice sounded familiar first and then figured it out. I love his line, "Why does nothing like that ever happen to me?" or something like that about falling in love.
