Favorite Animation Movie?

Post by Lucy Pevensie »

I just saw an old animated movie and was simply wondering . . . I have watched few Disney animated movies and even less animated movies aside from Disney's and was wondering what was good. :)

My all time favorite is the animated version of Charlotte's Web. Of course I have many, many others.

Since apparently Nightmare Before Christmas is not in Disney cannon, I must say that here.

I really like Anastasiatoo! \:D/ I just fastforward through a bit of the Rasputin stuff and I deleted his song off of my soundtrack. Other than that, it's bery sweet and fabulous!

Probably the biggest rival to Disney animation is Don Bluth's production company (which, sadly, he never came up with a creative name for). Bluth was originially an animator for the Disney company but left in the Disney Dark Ages to start his own company. Shortly after he left, Disney got going strong again with Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast and the rivalry was in full swing in the early 90's. Here are some of Don Bluth's movies and dates:

1982 - Secret of Nimh (not at all accurate to the book but a great movie anyway)
1986 - An American Tail
1988 - The Land Before Time (only the first one, he had nothing to do with the horrible sequals... no offense Aria :anxious:)
1989 - All Dogs Go to Heaven
1994 - A Troll in Central Park
1995 - The Pebble and the Penguin
1998 - Anastasia

My favorite of those is probably the original Land Before Time. The music is outstanding.

He didn't "help create it", he directed and produced it. Secret of NIMH was crazy because it deviated so far from the book... but it's really not that bad of a movie.

That's what I meant.
The rats and mice getting their shots part was really weird.

Lord Of The Rings (the animated 1980's version; they also made "The Hobbit").
