Dinner and Supper

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

Lunch and Dinner

Post by Abigail »

How do you say it?
I like to say it Lunch and Dinner, but my mom and dad (especially my dad) like to say "Dinner and Supper" and that gets on my nerves, because hearing them say it that way all the time gets me to saying it that way too, and I don't want to say it that way. :noway:

Dinner and Supper is kind of the old fashioned way of saying it...at least that's my impression...

or maybe...it's the redneck way of saying it :-k

I say lunch and dinner. You should have an admin make this a poll.

On a more related note, I went to the source and came up with some additional food for thought.

In my house 'Kai-kai time' is all we need to hear to know that food is served. Pidgin English is so cool. \:D/ (Even if that's not how you spell it... you pronounce it that way, anyway.)

Anyway, it's LUNCH and SUPPER. Anyone who says differently is just wrong. :noway:

Admins are the only one that can edited an existing poll that has already been voted in, but I'm pretty sure that anyone can add a poll to a thread that they started that does not have a poll by editing their first post of the thread. :) If Abigail tries and it doesn't work, then an admin can add it if she wants, but I think that she should be able to do it herself!

We say breakfast, lunch, and supper in family.

I was tempted to vote "I don't eat" just to see what people would say.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. The only time that "dinner" refers to a meal happening earlier than the evening is when we're going to the in-laws' for a holiday. Then dinner might be in the mid afternoon.

I do not eat supper. :noway:

Lunch and supper, or sometimes lunch and dinner. Depends on my mood. :) Although, at my house Sunday lunch is dinner. Don't know why... So Sundays we have dinner and supper.
