The NSMB uses touch screen so there's no way they could release it to on the GBA.The Top Crusader wrote:Heh, I need to get a DS, I keep hearing wonderous things about NSMB... I wish they had put a new came on the GBA instead of just porting classic ones... not that it wasn't cool to have slightly upgraded classic Mario games, but I think the GBA could basically handle a game the style of NSMB, just wouldn't have the 3Dish look, but since its a sidescroller it wouldn't really matter, anyway...STRYPER wrote:I had to vote for the New Super Mario Bros for the DS. Mario 3 was outstanding, and fundamentally a better game. But NSMB took most of the good things about 3 and added some of the features from Super Mario World, Mario 64 and Paper Mario.
Imagine Mario 3 with better graphics, wall jumping and ground pounding...
The only drawbacks were that there weren't as many items (only 4 instead of.... well a lot more than 4 in Mario 3), and the levels weren't quite as good.
Still, it was really hard not to vote for Mario Teaches Typing
I learned how to type 20wpm AND all about Abraham Lincoln
The best Mario game EVER?!

Well I just mean a new Mario game in general... I mean the basic gameplay I don't think used the touchscreen... but I could be wrong...
In NSMB, the touch screen showed a map or progress bar of the level (leaving the gameplay screen clear of corner icons and such) and had an icon in the corner for a selectable item. You touched the screen to use a Mushroom or Flower or something...

Which could also have been done using button methods.Sam Gamgee wrote:In NSMB, the touch screen showed a map or progress bar of the level (leaving the gameplay screen clear of corner icons and such) and had an icon in the corner for a selectable item.
