1. You would go to Whit's End just to hear Whit read riddles to you?
2. All of the girls had irritatingly nasally voices?
3. The cool lingo included phrases such as "way out"?
4. Every boy was "son"?
5. Whit actually invented things?
6. Whit was skinny?
7. You could eat a pizza without chewing and talk whilst doing so?
8. It was possible to write letters at a breakneck speed -- as fast as you can read the words aloud?
9. There were three boys named Freddy, all of whom you were lucky to meet once in a lifetime?
10. Receiving six presents for Christmas -- one of them being a bracelet and two being dolls -- was considered a huge assortment?
11. Old women and gang members sounded exactly alike?
12. The kids would refer to Whit by his nickname -- not "Mr. Whittaker"?
13. The old joke "Orange you glad I didn't say banana?" received resounding laughter from your friends?
14. Police officers held people up with cucumbers?
15. Teenage girls used phrases such as, "Everything went kablooey!"?
16. There were more than a half-dozen schools around the small town, and all of them only appeared once?
17. You could "invent" a photo-copier and not get sued?
18. Every kid always had one irritating trait, which was quickly resolved one afternoon just before the kid moved away?
19. You could go back to Bible times just by hearing about them?
20. You would go to Whit's End just for the ice cream?

Odyssey sure has changed over the years!

It's funny, the way people complain about Bethany's wild imagination. I was just listening to an old Lawrence and am like 'they're different how'? I luv 'm all.

When did a police officer hold somebody up with cucumbers?

That would be David Harley in ep 11 Addictions can be Habit-Forming.

That was also probably the ep that doomed Harley. After that, it was only a matter of time.

Has anybody heard the first Family Portraits episode? I believe it's called "The Visitor" or something like that. Almost the entire episode is just this one scene between Whit and a little boy. Just talking. And yet the conversation holds up the entire episode and keeps your attention in a way that this fast-paced bouncy music and cheap jokes that fill up new episodes never can.

For the longest time I preferred the new episodes to the old ones. But a while back I took a year-long break from Odyssey, and after that I listened to one of my favorite old episodes and one of my favorite new episodes back-to-back. I couldn't sit through the new episode. I got bored and shut it off.

That list you posted, Waluigi Freak, brought back a lot memories. Those first few years of Odyssey really were something special.

Oh, and as a side note:
11. Old women and gang members sounded exactly alike?
:hilarious: Too true!

"Whit's Visitor".

When did that happen?
Amanda in "Whit's Flop", Lucy in "A Question of Loyalty", and others. It's started happening recently, though.
