You Are a 90's Kid If . . .

I remember pretty much every single thing listed!!

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

You Are a 90's Kid If . . .

Post by Jennifer Doyle »

Got it off a MySpace bulletin, ironic enough.

You're a 90's kid if:

You can finish this [ice ice _ _ _ _ ]

You remember watching Doug, Ren & Stimpy, Pinky and the Brain

AAAAAAAH Real Monsters!

You've ever ended a sentence with the word "PSYCHE!"

You just cant resist finishing this . . . "Iiiiiiin west philidelphia born and raised . . ."

You remember TGIF, Step by Step, Family Matters, Dinosaurs, and Boy Meets World.

You remember when it was actually worth getting up early
on a Saturday to watch cartoons.

You got super excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school.

You remember reading "Goosebumps"

You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school.

You still get the urge to say "NOT" after (almost) every sentence . . . not

when everyhting was settled by rock paper scissors..or bubble gum bubble gum in a dish...and even better daddy had a donkey inky binky bonky.

when cops and robbers was a daily activity.

when we played Hide and go seek until our legs grew numb.

when we used to obey our parents

You used to listen to the radio all day long just to record your FAVORITE song of ALL time.

"Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?" was both a game and a TV game show.

Captain Planet. He's a Hero.

You knew that Kimberly, the pink ranger, and Tommy, the green ranger, were meant to be together.

You remember when Super Nintendos and Sega Genisis became popular.

You always wanted to send in a tape to America's Funniest Home Videos . . . but never taped anything funny.

You remember watching Home Alone 1, 2 , and 3 . . . and tried to pull the pranks on "intruders"

You remember watching The Magic School Bus, Wishbone, and Reading Rainbow on PBS.

You remember when Yo-Yos were cool.

You remember those Where's Waldo books.

You remember eating Warheads.

You remember watching the 1st Batman, Aladin, Ninja Turtles, and 3 Ninjas movies.

You remember Ring Pops.

You remember drinking Surge, and Tang.

If you remember when every thing was "da BOMB!"

When they made the new lunchables so that you could make pizza AND tacos.

You remember boom boxes vs. cd players.

Making those little paper fortune cookie things, and then predicting your life with them.

You played and/or collected "Pogs"

You had at least one Tamagotchi, GigaPet, or Nano and brought it everywhere.

. . . Furbies.

You haven't always had a computer, and it was cool to have the internet.

And Windows 95 was the best.

You watched the original cartoons of Rugrats, Power Rangers, and Ninja Turtles.

Michael Jordan was a king.

YIKES pencils and erasers were the stuff!

All your school supplies were "Lisa Frank" brand.

You remember when the new Beanie Babies and Talking Elmo were always sold out.

You collected those Beanie Babies.

Carebears

Gak was the coolest stuff invented.

Lambchop's song never ended.

The old dollar bills.

Silver dollars, which were cool to have.

You remember a time before the WB.

You collected all the Troll dolls

If you even know what an original walkman is.

You remember wanting to sit on the orange Nickelodeon couch.

You've gotten creeped out by "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"

You know the Macarena by heart.

"Talk to the hand" . . . enough said

You always said, "Then why don't you marry it!"

You know the significance of the number 23.

You went to McDonald's to play in the playplace.

You remember playing on merry go rounds at the playground.

Before the MySpace frenzy . . .

Before the Internet & text messaging . . .

Before Sidekicks & iPods . . .

Before MIKE JONES . . .

Before PlayStation2 or X-BOX . . .

Before Spongebob . . .

Back when you put off the 5 hours of homework you had every night.

When light up sneakers were cool.

When you rented VHS tapes, not DVDs.

When gas was $0.95 a gallon & Caller ID was a new thing.

When we recorded stuff on VCRs.

When we called the radio station to request songs to hear off of our walkmans.

Way back.

Before we realized all this would eventually disappear.

Who would have thought you'd miss the 90's so much!!!!!
I'll admit it. I miss them. Wasn't the world more wholesome back then, or did it just seem that way cause I was a kid? :)

"Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?" was both a game and a TV game show.
oh man I used to absolutely love that show.
(And now I have part of the theme song in my head. Gah.)

"Sonuna" Taranimak likes Bauxite, Copper, Green jade, the color navy, cloaks, ballistas, cats for their aloofness and hydras for their seven heads. When possible, she prefers to consume Dr Pepper and ramen.
She lives at a relaxed pace. She tends to avoid crowds. She has a fertile imagination. She is completely disorganized. She is very distant and reserved. She tends not to openly express emotions. She needs caffeine to get through the working day.

Yo-Yos are insanely cool- I LOVE the Where's Waldo books, and I still eat Warheads! \:D/

You remember drinking Surge, and Tang.

You had at least one Tamagotchi, GigaPet, or Nano and brought it everywhere.

OH YEAH!! ;)
All your school supplies were "Lisa Frank" brand.
What else was there? :-k
You remember when the new Beanie Babies and Talking Elmo were always sold out.
Always confused me.....
Lambchop's song never ended.
Nope, never did.
You always said, "Then why don't you marry it!"
*remembers a time where "Why don't you marry that hamburger then!" was said....* O:)
When light up sneakers were cool.

No, here's when one would feel old after reading it: Although some of it is early 90s, the later 90s stuff I was too old to experience! :boohoo:

That's a great list, JD - thanks! \:D/ I don't relate to nearly all of them, but a bunch of them are quite familiar.

I used to have light-up shoes in grade three or four, and I was the only one in my class that had them - I was cool! Those were the days. ;)

And they still sell Ring Pops and kids still like them, so that isn't only a '90s thing, though the overall selection probably used to be less, so they stood out more.

Most of that is cool, but... including Home Alone 3 with 1 and 2!? :noway: That was like, a decade later. And no one liked it. \:D/

But wow, I miss a lot of that stuff. :( I remember being excited to get up on Saturday morning for cartoons... now I don't think any of the regular networks have kids stuff... except Fox. I used to watch Muppet Babies on I think CBS and Captain N and Super Mario Bros. 3 on NBC... and Fox had the older Batman and X-men and Spider-man cartoons... before they started just showing anime.

We never had the coolest of the cool clothes, so light up shoes weren't in the picture, but I remember so much of the other stuff. I ate warheads the other day after not seeing them for years and years and it was such a memory trigger! :robot:

But this did make me feel old.
You can finish this [ice ice _ _ _ _ ]
Only b/c of Ice Age, which isn't 90ish, but anywho...
You remember watching Doug, Ren & Stimpy, Pinky and the Brain

AAAAAAAH Real Monsters!
I'd still watch those if they were still on.
You remember when it was actually worth getting up early
on a Saturday to watch cartoons.
Never, and I mean never slept in on a Saturday. Cartoons are very lacking nowadays.
You got super excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school.
Oh, wow, you have no idea. Even on those insanely old Macintosh computers on the giant floppy floppy disks.
You remember reading "Goosebumps"
I remember seeing a ton of them, but never read them.
when everyhting was settled by rock paper scissors..or bubble gum bubble gum in a dish...and even better daddy had a donkey inky binky bonky.
Or "Oboe, shin not tin tot en, nay nay, I am boom boom boom..." *laughs*
when cops and robbers was a daily activity.

when we played Hide and go seek until our legs grew numb.
Or when outdoor games and imagination ruled surpreme. My personal favorite was monster tag.
"Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?" was both a game and a TV game show.
Still have the game, and was addicted to that show.
You remember when Super Nintendos and Sega Genisis became popular.
Ha. I remember when Nintendo's were popular (still play Mario from time to time), and when a neighbor had Atari.
You always wanted to send in a tape to America's Funniest Home Videos . . . but never taped anything funny.
I had the opposite problem. I recorded plenty of funny stuff. Just never wanted to send it in :anxious:
You remember watching Home Alone 1, 2 , and 3 . . . and tried to pull the pranks on "intruders"
Three stunk. The first one was nothing short of classic.
You remember watching The Magic School Bus, Wishbone, and Reading Rainbow on PBS.
Hey, on a rainy day, there was a great way to spend the afternoon after school ^_^
You remember eating Warheads.
The first time I had a warhead I literally fell over. Getting teachers to eat one was really fun.
You remember drinking Surge, and Tang.
...Tang isn't around anymore?!?! o_O
Making those little paper fortune cookie things, and then predicting your life with them.
Those were nothing short of coolness.
You played and/or collected "Pogs"
Actually, yes. Haven't heard that word in years.
And Windows 95 was the best.
I still have a computer that runs Win95 \:D/
Gak was the coolest stuff invented.
Cept it smelled funny.
Lambchop's song never ended.
It just goes on and on my friend! Some people started singing it one day not knowing what it was....
You remember wanting to sit on the orange Nickelodeon couch.
Well, duh! That's where Kenan and Kel hung out! Speaking of orange....
You've gotten creeped out by "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"
Extremely.
You know the Macarena by heart.
And had to dance to it in gym class -_-;
You remember playing on merry go rounds at the playground.
Still do, though those days don't happen much anymore.
Before the MySpace frenzy . . .

Before the Internet & text messaging . . .

Before Sidekicks & iPods . . .

Before MIKE JONES . . .

Before PlayStation2 or X-BOX . . .
I could do without all of those. Though the internet is nice to have.
Back when you put off the 5 hours of homework you had every night.
Ha! Like procrastination ended in 1999.....
When light up sneakers were cool.
When they were? They still look cool on little kids.
