Triumphant Returns

Which was better?

Whit's wiping down the counter, Connie's mopping the floor, and the kids are sipping on their milkshakes. If you want to talk about Adventures in Odyssey the radio drama, this is the spot to do just that!

Triumphant Returns

Post by HarlowRoxMySox »

Now God's amazing grace has brought two beloved characters back. The first was Whit, years ago in "A Search for Whit" and now Eugene returns in the three part saga last month. Which was a better way to return a character? Which was more suspenseful? Which did you like better?
Do any of YOU know how to make hand shadows?

While I am thrilled that Eugene is back, I liked The Search for Whit as an episode (or three!) more. It had a great mystery, and it had Jason and Tasha, with some of Jason's fabulous lines, and it seemed more...real or something, I don't know. Maybe in a few years I'll have a deeper appreciation for the eps that cover Eugene's return, but for now, I'll stick with "How I Do Is Nothing Great" over "No, not mime control - mind control!"

I must say I thoroughly enjoyed both three-parter arcs. However, I think "The Search for Whit" had slightly more powerful Christian implications . . . for me, personally, anyway. For "A Most..." I think the fact that the original actor, Will Ryan, was returning made the three-parter that much more enjoyable. While I was thrilled to have another actor filling in for Hal Smith in "The Search for Whit," it wasn't quite the same. :-k

Eugene coming back was the best event in Odyssey in about the last 7 years. On the other hand, I liked The Search for Whit a better as episodes.

If they didn't make a three-parter about it, it doesn't count. ;)

(But that was a good return too). \:D/

I voted for "The Search for Whit." The Eugene shows were great because they had his return but I think that Whit's return will end up being a more classic show for me. :-k
Don't hold me to it though. I often have a hard time knowing exactly how I feel about certain episodes until I hear them over and over later on.

Well...I wasn't connected to the AIO world when "TSFW" first broadcasted, so I heard it when I checked out "The Search for Whit" album out at the church library. It was great. Powerful message, wonderful emotions, heart-felt relationships. Wow. From the two I'd have to pick TSFW.

The Search for Whit is THE best!!! It has been one of my favorites ever since I first heard it. Eugene's return was very good, but The Search for Whit will always be my favorite of the two.

Eugene returning was great. I am very glad that he is back. But, I don't know what I thought when Whit came home. I was probably just as excited. I didn't listen to the first airing so it wasn't as big of a deal.

Eugene was great, Whit coming home was great. I voted......

The Search for Whit was better. Probably because the Eugene episodes seemed contrived. The whole novacom brain wave business isn't something that really happens in 'the real world'. However an archaeological dig was pretty realistic.

I'm going to have to go with "Search for Whit" as well.

I'm really glad Eugene is back, but I thought the Whit return was a better series of episodes.

Yeah, as much as I liked the "A most..." trilogy, I just had to vote for "A Search for Whit".
