It's a guitar. If it was a bass, the bridge would be closer to the end of the body, and the neck would be longer.

That, and the fact that basses have 4/5 strings, not 6.

Slumbo, if you preview the post, beneath the text box there's a tab that says "options". Click on the tab next to that one that says "upload attachment", and you can upload a picture right from your computer.
