It makes a lot more since if you study the word's Latin origins.

It probably would, but I think that there's no real point to say freshmen, sophomore, junior, and senior instead of grade 9, 10, 11, and 12. I googled it to see what it meant and now I understand why he said "wise fool".
Here in Canada we almost never use those words.
Truth be told, we Americans would rather sound more impressive.
Actually, it helps me a lot, because then I know exactly where they are in high school/college without having to use math.

Don't grades make more sense, though? If somebody says, "I'm a freshman," you still don't know whether they're in high school or college (maybe they look young/old for their age) and you have to keep track of what the words mean, instead of just following a basic number system using numbers that many people know before they start kindergarten. I'm used to grade 9, grade 10 etc. so maybe that's part of what it makes more sense to me, but I really don't see how it could get any easier.
Today I had a fairly easy day at work and then spent time watching "Sue Thomas" (swoon!)

and then "The Pacifier." Good times.

I love lazy days...especially when they involve Yannick Bisson.
Dan, is your best friend's name really Dan?

Do people get confused when you hang out together?
