What movie is the best movie made so far this year?
And are any better than The LOTR series?
Even though I haven't seen Narnia, I am sure that it will be good. (If it isn't I will be so very disappointed! ) But, another good one is Pride and Prejudice which came out this year. Since I am not the hugest fan of Lord of the Rings, I would have to say that they may be better, but who knows? You? (If you do tell me! )

For some reason it got some low reviews. But, it looks like an enjoyable film...THE TOP CRUSADER!! wrote:Anyone see "The Island"? It totally, totally bombed, so apparently not many people did. I saw it, and I would probably consider that...

Totally forgot Exorcism of Emily Rose. Another GREAT movie with good Christian message.

Hmmm, some of my favs of the year (that I've seen so far) were
Brothers Grimm,
Batman Begins,
CoN,
War of the Worlds,
Greatest Game Ever Played
the Pacifier
Now to answer the question of whether any outdo LOTR....hmmm....I don't know...the Brothers Grimm was hilarious, and Batman had honor, CoN had impact, War of the Worlds was gripping ( ), Greatest Game Ever Played was inspiring, and the Pacifier made me go "Awwww", so, quite frankly, I don't know.

I don't think anything could ever beat LotR, just because of the amazingness of it!
In my humble opinion, the best movies of '05 were:
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Pride & Prejudice (AMAZING!)
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
And there might be another one, but my brain is pretty much gone this morning.

'King Kong'. No question. THAT is the way that movies are meant to be made. Epic, thrilling, heartbreaking, and full of emotion and energy. Simply awe-inspiring.
I had the great priviledge of being able to see this movie for the first time on an IMAX SCREEN!!!!!! Golly Gee Whilikers! that was absolutely breathtaking.
And I hesitate to mention this, but I was SOBBING at the end. Out loud. In the theater. In front of others. When Kong slipped over the edge of the empire state building, I completely lost it. I had been REALLY crying well before then, but when he fell...........OH man. I broke down right then and there. Sobbing. Coving my mouth with my hand. But, while I was doing this, I heard something that I did not expect; over half the audience in the theater was SOBBING RIGHT ALONG WITH ME!!! One woman was wailing like her child had just died. THAT is one movie experience that I will never forget. Wow.

Yeah, I've heard King Kong getting reactions like that. I cried when I saw the original as a wee lad... though the new one creates more of an emotional investment in the character...

I can't wait for Batman 2, although I heard the Joker isn't going to be a major character until 3...
They should seriously get Mark Hammil to play The Joker.

2) Christians=Catholics on a large scale. Seeing as how our dear webmaster is a Catholic I wouldn't badmouth them too much.

Well, okay, probably not... but yeah, Batman Begins and Star Wars Episode III easily beat it. And Unleashed was probably the best movie I saw this year. I'm sure I'm forgetting some really awesome movies. LWW and King Kong I expect to personally like more than LOTR, but that remains to be determined.
Aaaaaaa! SW and BB and U beat LOTR?!
Some people are weird.
