I agree, I loved that story as well. \:D/
Ooh, I'm gonna read that next year; what's it about?
....That defeats the purpose of reading it, Marvin. =P Trust me, you'll like it better if you don't know what's going on. ^_^ (I ruined it for myself last year; I should know. :- )
Oh. *unashamedly goes to Google "The Scarlet Letter" to find out what the books about.....not. ;)
One year later. . .I've read it! \:D/ But I was disappointed, I figured out who was Pearl's father from the what? 2nd chapter :( But I'm writing my character analysis on him, still

And it was a sad story :(

We watched the movie for my English class. (I guess my teacher thought it was too much work for us to read the book?)

Anyway, the movie was spoiled because someone from the ToO had mentioned that this person was her favorite character. Imagine my despair as I sat in my dark English class, and coming to the realization that this person was Pearl's father-three minutes into the movie. I was extremely disheartened.

I finished Kirk Cameron's autobiography, Still Growing. Funny, charming and engaging with a good Gospel presentation.

Don't worry, it was spoiled in the book when he's all relieved when Hester won't say who the father is

You watched the movie? :-k Isn't it like, R-rated? And I read about it. . .it's nothing like the book >_>

There's an R rated one made in 1995, but there was a mini series made in 1979, which is probably what Marv saw.
I remember reading the Scarlett Letter and liking it; we watched the movie too, but never finished it. I would've liked to have seen the rest though :)

Right now, I'm not reading anything recreational, unless the Christian online magazine Set-Apart Girl counts

I've not really been reading much lately because I've been too busy writing. Well, actually I've been reading a lot of fanfiction. And I'm still slowly trudging my way through both Anne of the Island and The Fellowship of the Ring.

Let's see.... Mere Christianity, Screwtape Letters, Case for a Creator, America: The Last Best Hope, The Shadow and Night...and others. :P

I'm not boasting, I'm just saying it's not a smart thing to read more than two books at a time. :-

We finished up The Republic for Law Academy! I've never been more excited for a test in my life. Now we're reading an abridged version of The Odyssey for English! \:D/

I finished As the Sparks Fly Upward yesterday, it was excellent. I am sorry to see that series (trilogy actually) end. Last night I started Back Home Again: It is the first book in the Tales from Grace Chapel Inn and so far (I'm not very far into it yet) it is very good. I have been wanting to read this series for some time and have finally started it.

I need to start reading a book of Shakespeare's plays for Scholar's Bowl, because my base knowledge from the Wednesday Wars probably just isn't enough. But I'm too lazy, unfortunately. :(

I'm starting a book called Banner in the Sky for school. I'm also doing my second read through of my states drivers manual. Boring, but important.

I'm not sure what to read next; Foxe's Book of Myrters, a Passages book, Rich Dad, Poor Dad or maybe something else...
