Unfortunately, we cannot disclose our sources.
Kinda like Lucy. Nor do we know further details. But yes, there will be a new Whit in place by this time next year.
I bet this is all a huge scandal just because you want a "hot scoop"!

A scoop? No, that's what
Jacob Isom's site is for.

As Trent said, i cannot disclose my sources, but do know i would not have said anything if I was not completely sure that my information were accurate. Also understand that my sources are reliable, valid and credible. Other than that, I can say nothing more. You can chose to believe me and know that I would not lie to you nor would I intentionally deliver misinformation (which I hope you will do), or you can chose to not believe me and find out with the rest of the AIO listeners in a year or so whether or not the information is accurate.

I don't mean to be rude here, I just don't really like people hinting at or assuming I'm a liar or out to mislead particularly when I try so hard to be honest with people and help out fellow fans when and where I can.

I agree that people shouldn't question your posts like that but not everyone may be familiar with you. And it'd be a lot easier if it could just be said that the Focus said that there's been a change in Whit's than all this secrecy about sources. Unless you're not supposed to tell us, in which case, protect your source(s).

Good points Shawndlay.

Sometimes I forget that people don't know who i am.
For the record: I am JesusFreak777 aka JF777 aka Sarah cohost of the Unofficial Adventures in Odyssey Podcast! YAY!
*ahem*
As for Sources: The main reason I don't disclose who they are or who they are with is because I am asked to not do so. They may not be able to releae the info themselves without it looking official or for various other reasons so they ask us to do so for them. Sometimes we give out information here that the general public doesn't yet know, so for us to say something is from Focus when they haven't officially given that information out - well - that could cause problems for everyone involved and wouldn't really look very good, if that makes sense.
This board is a special place and is sometimes used as a testing ground for information and sometimes that information changes before it is released to the general public. By keeping it Anonymous it allows Focus or whoever the organization is to get their information or product ready for public release without any real expectations from people like us and we won't be disappointed because it wasn't like an official promise per se but just an fyi. I have no idea if that makes any sense whatsoever - and this is just my opinion and may not be the intention of people at AIO at all - this is just simply my inference. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
EDIT To clarify though the issue of the new whit IS guaranteed to happen. Remember, the information we give doesn't always change, but it has that cushion to do so. so when we give you info it is accurate at the time and I honestly can't think of an example where that has changed later, but I'm leaving that clause in there just in case the situation does/has come up and I just can't remember heehee

Well, I'm sorry dear if I was implying you were lying. I know you'd never intentionally lie to us. And I had no idea you were Sarah from the Unoffical Odyssey Podcast! I just wanted to know if we were basing all our "assumptions" on that vague sentence on Paul McCusker's website.
But this is terrible news indeed.

I'm sorry to see Paul go. God Bless him.

I actually wasn't referring just to you, and to everyone out there, it's totally ok! I understand and all is good on my end.
I now - it really is sad and i also understand people wanting me to cite my source - I wish I could so I could help you out. It gets frustrating for me too when I can't cause then people start to doubt me and I don't like that much, but I have to deal with it cause I can't really do anything to change it. Such is life.

So trust me, I feel your pain, and I'm also glad this isn't a paper for school or I would fail - heehe!

Maybe we'll hear more from Jack and Jason like when Hal Smith died.

But they already have "a new Whit." They don't need another character to take his place for a while.

May be they'll have to slowly work him in though.

I think we should just maybe wait and see. If JF777 or any other FOTF connected person decides to leak [leak as in tell us about something] information we get to find out if not, we do not find out.

Yes, wait and see. Even if is hard. Maybe the podcasts, official and unofficial, will have something to say in next few months.

I will admit when I first heard about a new Whit, I was very very very sad. But, I also trust the AIO writers/productes that there are good reasons for the change, even if we as fans don't always get it.
We made it through the transition from Hal being gone to no Whit for a while to Paul, so I am sure we will make it through a new Whit too. (As hard as it will be).

But I don't think its right to keep replacing a characters voice.
I'm sorry.
But this is very upsetting for me.
I am still very mad at it.
So, it's better for the writers, producers, etc. of AIO to keep putting demands on Mr. Herlinger that he might not be able to meet anymore, and for Mr. Herlinger to go along with it without protest? I'm sorry; I'm just having a bit of trouble understanding your reasoning here.
You know what this whole thing reminds me of? When Jim Henson died, and Steve Whitmire took over as the performer for Kermit. Even now, almost twenty years later, I
still see Muppet fans get into heavy debates over Jim's Kermit vs. Steve's Kermit. I've seen people badmouth Frank Oz because he chose to move on with his career in directing movies rather than staying on with the Muppets and voicing Miss Piggy, and at the same time badmouth the person who took over for Frank simply because he wasn't Frank.
And you know what? That kind of thing makes me very upset. What ever happened to giving somebody a chance before passing judgment? When did it become okay to say you didn't like somebody just because they were replacing the performer of a favorite character, when you haven't seen how the new person coming in will handle the role?
I've said it before, on another forum in relation to another fandom, and I'll paraphrase it here: everything changes, including well-loved twenty year-old radio shows. We shouldn't be resistant, because it's going to happen no matter what we do. Who knows; while you're busy wishing for the "good old days", you could miss out on something really good.

I kind of came to the same conclusion concerning commercial trance and electronic music in general about a year ago actually, so I couldn't help but repost this. If you look past the bad of losing another whit voice, you can find something even more amazing then what you may be losing.

Perhaps the 9 Darien's Rise episodes, which Whit is narrating (assuming it's the new Whit), will help us get used to the new Whit before he interacts with kids in regular episodes. Familiarity helps!

When Incredibles Came out, I thought the guy doing the Boundin Skit sounded a lot like Paul Herlinger and could play Whit one day. Now I dont think so as much anymore.

I AM very very curious to what the new Whit sounds like. I am ready for new season.

If you imagine it without the twang, he really does sound quite a bit like Paul. Of course, he's an animator, not an actor, so he won't be taking on any roles outside Pixar, but it's fun to imagine what John Avery will sound like when he returns.

Thats so true. I figured he was just with Pixar. I see Darian's Rise is starting in September. Do we know if Whit will be in these episodes ?
