You're a cheeseball.

Ingress, are you writing (a) fanfic(s)? Is that why you have so many Meltsner/Novacom-specific headcanons?
Sadly, no; I have the ideas but they don't form full stories. The closest I've ever come was a few years ago when I briefly roleplayed Eugene in a Livejournal prompt writing community. It kinda doesn't help when current AIO canon josses my headcanons either.

EDIT: And just for kicks, here are a few more.

There are only a handful of people that Eugene has an honest dislike for. One of them, naturally, is Dalton Kearn. Another is Bill Kendall. He didn't have a lot of respect for Connie's father to begin with and he lost it all when Bill showed up at his mother Mildred's viewing drunk. Although generally not one for physical confrontations, after Bill came for June Kendall’s funeral with Connie’s half-sister in tow and demanded the keys to June’s house from Connie so that he wouldn’t have to stay in a hotel, Eugene found himself sorely tempted to punch the man in the face.

While he still does phone call or video chat via the Edu-Link, Eugene's preferred way of communicating with his father and brother in Africa is via handwritten letters. Eventually Eugene is inspired to begin a pen-pal program between the students of Odyssey Elementary and the children of the Ashanti village.

After restarting the Radiowave Study in Washington, D.C. Eugene attempted to contact Duncan Matthis to see if he wanted to be a part of it again. But the letter he sent to Duncan’s rehab center was returned unopened. When he called the center Eugene learned that Duncan had moved out shortly after testifying at Tom Riley’s trial, and had left no forwarding address. To this day, Eugene still doesn’t know where Duncan went or what happened to him.

I was going through a tumblr blog this evening, and one of the user's posts concerned sixteen different kinds of herbal tea and their health benefits. This passage about chamomile tea really caught my eye, owing to my DeWhite coffee/tea headcanon:
Chamomile is a popular herb that’s used in teas worldwide. Chamomile soothes the stomach and relieves bloating and indigestion. Chamomile also calms the mind and helps people relax and deal better with their stresses.
Remind me again—which of the two DeWhite brothers is prone to internalizing semi-neurotic freakouts? ;)

Nick has been in Chicago and has been falling into his old habits, prompting the Mulligans to bring him back home. Aubrey has graduated, and needs a way to pay the bills while she looks for a permanent job.

Digger Digwillow was killed in an accident shortly after building Wonder World, which is why he never appeared in any episodes after Heatwave. Most of the kids in Odyssey didn't know Digger, and eventually all the kids who knew about Wonder World moved away. Now all that's left are rumors of a hidden tree house that some kid built a long time ago.
this is my favorite so far. And it could be that Nick and Aubrey realized Whit's Ends antiaging affects and want to get closer to "the source" so they can stay young forever like Connie and Eugene.

Castles & Cauldrons was never really all that popular... which runs contrary to its goals of deliberately brainwashing its players, which explains why it's so different from virtually(?) every role-playing game ever. Andromeda considers it a bit of a misfire.

Wow, I had to read your post a second time to really appreciate it, Caswin! I have never had such a thought before, but I like it!

So did I. And all I can say is wow, and you get all the win.

A couple more of mine, for kicks:

Before Dalton Kearn’s arrest the only people who knew where Leonard Meltsner was were Eugene, Katrina, Whit, the local police – and Millie Shanks. Leonard and Millie met when the latter showed up at Eugene and Katrina’s house for a surprise visit; Leonard was the only one home at the time. Millie was understandably surprised, since she (like everyone else) thought that Eugene’s father was dead. Although she wasn’t as surprised as Eugene and Katrina were when they came home to find Millie and Leonard chatting amicably in the living room.

When Millie found out that Eugene and Katrina were unable to have children she insisted on setting up appointments for her daughter and son-in-law with the best fertility specialists in Chicago, claiming against Katrina’s protests that they needed to get a second opinion. Those doctors only told Eugene and Katrina the same thing that their doctor in Odyssey had. Katrina became livid when her mother decided that they needed a third opinion from another specialist and the two women got into a pretty heated argument; among other things, Katrina accused her mother of interfering with her life and not respecting her and Eugene’s wishes. Katrina and her mother haven’t spoken since.

Not long after Eugene and Katrina formed Hand Up, Tom Riley had his will amended. Originally upon his death he was going to have the house sold while asking Whit to look after Timmy’s Cabin and the Timothy Center. But now it is changed so that when Tom dies the Meltsners will inherit the center and the house and farm. Tom believes that A) the Timothy Center would greatly benefit from a partnership with Hand Up and B) Eugene and Katrina will need the extra space someday.

I especially love the one about Tom! That sounds exactly like a Tom Riley kind of thing to do. :D

Yeah, guess what...I came up with some more...

Michael Mushnik lost custody of Eugene not for criminal reasons, but for medical ones. Not long after Eugene had been left with him Michael suffered an accident and sustained injuries to his leg, back and hip, bad enough to ensure that he would be spending quite some time in the hospital and in rehab. This also meant that he wasn’t able to care for Eugene. With Hiram in the nursing home in Connellsville and no other family in the area, the authorities had no choice but to place Eugene with a foster family.

Katrina had an ulterior motive for asking Whit if they could choose what memories Eugene got back. While the death of her father and the constant fear while they were on the run were bad, what Katrina had really been hoping for was that Eugene wouldn’t remember learning what they had about his parents while they were in Africa: the grief over his mother’s death, the hope upon learning that his father was alive, and the despair and frustration when his attempts to locate Leonard were fruitless. It was that pain she wanted to spare him from more than anything.

Before he and Katrina decided to become Buck’s foster parents there was one other person that Eugene turned to for advice – his father. As they talked Leonard reminded his son about what Eugene had told Ed Washington about being chosen when the Washington family were debating whether or not to foster Kelly. Leonard also made the suggestion that God had arranged for Eugene to be placed with the Burnettes when he was a child so that he could one day become the parent figure that Buck needed.

Before she put Jules on the plane to New York Connie told her sister that her home was always open to her and she was welcome to come and stay whenever she wanted or needed. From what she knows of her father and has heard of Jules’ mother, Connie has a suspicion that it won’t be long before Jules turns up on her doorstep again.

Me too! :D That definitely sounds like the kind of thing Connie would say that could tie into lots of future story ideas. The Eugene and Katrina ideas are very plausible and sweet as well. :D

plus she has mentioned rattling around in that "big" house now that Penny and Wooton are getting married.
It would also continue her development into an "adult". I can just see her, Katrina and Eugene discussing teen issues.........from the parental point of view.
