That looks like it will be really awesome! I love Pixar! Cars was not my favorite but it was pretty amazing anyway. I can't wait!

Pixar has never let me or any of us down, except for the Rotten Tomato's troll "Armond White".

Looking foward to it. Pixar is probably the only reason I would spend a good 9-10 bucks on a movie ticket to watch. The other being Christopher Nolan movies!

So people are saying it's not supposed to be that good. :( Could this be not only Pixar's weakest film to date, but possibly Pixar's first bad film? I definitely hope not. I was never super excited about having a sequel to Cars, but I've always had a strong faith in Pixar's ability to pull off practically anything and do it well.

I agree. Personally, I never thought that the first Cars movie was that great. It certainly was not deserving of a sequel. Pixar will have to do a really great job.

Hmm... I don't think Shadowfax believes that. ;)

Otherwise, while I don't think it will be a bad movie, I think it looks hilarious, I'm not excited about it. I know some are... I just can't see this sequel panning out the same Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 3 did. The first one was only redeemable to me for the song "Life is a Highway" by Rascal Flatts. and Yes, I did enjoy Owen Wilson and Bonnie Hunt. I mean, some people ROCK voice acting - and this being an Odyssey forum, we know that. lol. *Dude, Corey Burton!* I think Cars 2 won't do well though. Not that it will be BAD, but it doesn't have that strong of hold.

We will see how much it makes this weekend. I do not think it will be #1 in the box office, if at all 2nd. At least it came out before Captain America and Cowboys & Aliens *nods* Maybe not the best on Green Lantern. Oh, and before Transformers. It really is all about placement in theaters. Why do you think Pirates came out so early? And Thor? *though I saw that as a way to space out that and Captain America. Maybe pushing Captain America more towards September would have helped... but, why people do what they do, IDK. Better lead in for Avengers, *shrug* Boy, do I think about this too much. lol*

That being said... Pixar is good. I mean, next year Brave will come out. Not entirely excited for a Pixar fairy tale, and the concept art looks UGLY, but I would have said the same for Tangled's lead up, and that was an amazing movie. Pixar can make a bad movie. It happens. They aren't perfect, nor can they be. I'm not holding them to perfection. No offense.

This. ;)

I don't even get why people didn't like the original Cars. Guys, that movie was a masterpiece. Sure, the concept of talking cars was maybe dumb and it got old, but the story of transformation was inspiring and epic. A good movie is about storytelling, and Cars nailed that aspect on every level.

But at the moment, Cars 2 only has a 34% rating on RT, with is the first Pixar film ever to be given a "rotten" rating (previous films like Toy Story 3 and Up are rated at like 98/99%).

Well I'm not going to see it in theaters. Seeing as I have the most expensive movie theater in the world. (Not kidding matinee adult is about $9.25.) But Pixar never has failed us completely yet. Shadowfax that is so sad. Pixar is wonderful. And they actually make movies that you can show the whole family. Brave I am excited about. But I'm not quite sure about Monsters 2.

We're going to see it tomorrow. Although I have to admit, I'm mostly just excited to see the Toy Story short.
